El Pie de Oveja, the latest V/A compilation from Cuntry Club, brings together Zgjim, K1RA, Fortunato, Rkills, KoIfin ft Ephemer, Rumina, and Vincent Ce Soir ft U.R.A.M.I., 9starP, blending industrial textures with rich folklore. The title, meaning "The Sheep’s Foot," evokes ancient myths where sheep symbolize innocence, sacrifice, and vulnerability. This contrasts with the industrial, metallic sound present in the compilation, evoking a sharp, mechanical bite.The guaracha influence, woven into the frenetic rhythms, syncopated grooves of jersey club adds a Latin electronic undercurrent to the darker tones. Inspired by the 18th-century French play Le Pied de Mouton, which features a talisman with unpredictable power, the compilation mirrors the idea of mechanical unpredictability—both powerful and volatile. The sheep’s foot also references Hydnum repandum, a mushroom known for its rugged texture, adding an organic contrast to the industrial soundscapes.
