As Mama Lane turns 83 today, I thought I would take a moment to revisit her 80th birthday surprise. I called upon a favor from a childhood friend/schoolmate, vocalist Joi (who is currently on the Outkast 20th Anniversary Tour)...Mama Lane has loved her since we were kids. Joi was gracious enough to record a quick birthday greeting for her...the best minute recording ever to make a grown woman cry, happy  pleasantly surprised...thanks Joi...much love always! ♥
