Ahoi,
euer Käpt’n segelte letztens mal wieder gedankenverloren im Indischen Ozean kreuz und quer hin und her, beschäftigt mit der einen Frage: Welche luxuriöse Yacht könnte er entern und sich derer Schätze und Rum-Vorräte annehmen? Mit der letzten Flasche Rum im Ausguck sitzend erspähte er ein Schiff und je näher er diesem kam um so deutlicher hörte er Stimmen, welche über das Wasser zu ihm drangen. Euer Käpt’n vernahm Worte wie Schatzinsel, Rum, Schatzkiste, Gold und Meuterei. Das klang ganz nach seinem Geschmack und er legte sich auf die Lauer. Was er zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch nicht wusste, auf selbigem Schiff übte sich http://soundcloud.com/andres-remix im Piraten- und Soundhandwerk, um bei der Seasidetrip Crew anzumustern. So kam es, das euer Käpt’n dem André hinterher segelte und im Schatten eines Felsen beobachtete wie der André seinen Schatz, das schwarze Gold an Land schaffte und dort sein Soundsystem aufbaute. Ihr könnt euch denken, dass das euren Käpt’n erfreute und er sofort klar Schiff machte, um an Land zu gehen. Als wir anlandeten war André schon mittendrin in seinem Set und wir Ruck Zuck dabei, Rum zu trinken und seinen Klängen am Strand zu lauschen. Und da waren sie wieder, diese Stimmen … und jeder kleine und große Pirat kennt sie aus der Schatzinsel. - Willkommen zum neuen Seasidetrip, André’s Treasure Island Mix!

André: Jo Ho Hoo und ne' Buddel voll Rum - Habe mal meine Schatzkiste geöffnet und ein paar elektronische Perlen neuerer und älterer Herkunft ausgepackt. Würde mich freuen, wenn ihr bei ruhiger See, wenn die Abende jetzt länger werden, euch einen Drink gönnt und der Musik lauscht oder vor euch hin tanzt. Muss ja nicht gleich eine ganze Flasche Rum sein, dann klappt es vielleicht mit den Likes und comments nicht mehr ;-)) über die ich mich natürlich freuen würde.

This Friday, Black Butter Records take on the role of hosting Room One, enlisting the phenomenal, Rudimental and the legend that is Roy Davis JR to front the lineup. They’ll be flanked by the likes of My Nu Leng, Woz and Wayward, presenting the majority of the label alongside the sounds of Southern Fried cohorts, Maribou State. It’s no doubt then that the takeover will create a little dancefloor hysteria, delivering not only one of the UK’s runaway success stories of 2013 but also displaying the momentous degree of talent to rise out of the Black Butter label’s ranks. So in full preparation for the revelry ahead, we’ve recruited Bristol’s Woz to drop an exclusive mix, giving us a little taste of what’s in store come Friday night…

I discovered Frankie Knuckles through his music, one that was, gentle, lush with a subdued, understated power that rocked many a dancefloor.
I had the privilege to hear him once in the heyday of his legendary residency at Sound Factory Bar in New York. I was submerged, sonically and emotionally by the beauty of the music I heard that night. I remember very clearly saying to myself that this would be impossible to ever equal.
That was 20 years ago, and I never got to hear this magic combination again.

I got to meet Frankie a few times, and he was always like his music, gentle, humble,   yet naturally imposing

I've put together here some of my favorite music from him. So that his legacy can keep on inspiring other people.

Rest in peace, Frankie, may your music keep on moving people eternally

Music world lost another extremely important pioneer, our beloved Godfather of House, Frankie Knuckles. May he rest in everlasting peace. As the world mourns his passing it's important that we celebrate the movement that he's created. From House to Electronic Dance Music we owe all the praise to Frankie Knuckles. It's icons like Frankie (The Warehouse), Larry Levan (Paradise Garage), David Mancuso (The Loft) and Nicky Siano (The Gallery) that established dance music culture during the 70's and 80's in NYC and Chicago which ultimately changed the face of nightlife across the globe.  The message was always in the music. Dancing was the key of life. What you're about to listen to is a direct reflection of these pioneers via records they loved and played with lots of Frankie Knuckles productions and remixes throughout. His music raised me. Records like "Tears" and the "Whistle Song" have never left my crates. He will be sorely missed but the music lives on. 

At No Limits the idea is to continue the legacy of good music across the board with no boundaries, the way things used to be and should remain. Note, this is a live set, crowd noise will be heard throughout. Enjoy!

Late 2013 their most recent album 'Chrome Waves' dropped, and now they have finally found some time to start up their first weekly radioshow for Dutch FM radio station SUBLIME FM. Don't expect their regular dj sets, which are more clubby, but more a dynamic mix of smooth, raw, rare discotheque and warehouse finds in f.e. funk, soul, jazz and disco, combined with the dancefloor sounds of nu disco, deephouse and electronica of today.

We first got hip to Jesse at his Body Music night at Bembe, here in Brooklyn, which ran for a whopping seven years. However, he's been DJing in NYC and worldwide since 1999. Known for his diverse and eclectic sets (usually accompanied by live musicians), you can expect a mix of vibes, tempos, and genres—from Nigerian disco records to deep, dirty and dusty house, booty-shaking soul, bass-heavy percussive jams, and beyond. He's played with everyone from LTJ Bukem to Africa Bambaata and Robert Hood, from Paris to Berlin to Tokyo, at clubs like Cielo, Limelight, Watergate, and more.
