Put up the bunting and bring out the birthday cake, Clarisse has hit 50 and is marking the occasion in true style with an unflinching piece of hearty tribal house that the label has nailed to its mast time after time. Leading the labels half-century celebrations is Dario D'Attis, the Italian also known as The Funk Ensemble who has repped Switzerlands Purple Tracks/Purple Music, as well as A-grade labels Hive and Nervous in a career on wax that stretches back before the Millennium.

Here with one of Clarisses leading vibe stylists in Yvan Genkins, who has done much to help Clarisse tot up its milestone, Afro Call chugs like a non-stop cross-country train with an infinite tank of gas, full of thirsty clubbers ready for fiesta. Full of pots and pans percussion taking it to the streets, the duo provide an authentic open air feel bound to create one long human traffic jam, its pistons greased with the vocal echoes of classic chanters such as the Gypsymens Babarabatiri.

Secondcity is Rowan Harrington, who comes to the party with Chicago in his blood, an Ibizan residency at Sankeys Tribal Sessions to his name, and already knowing a thing or two about the Clarisse brand from remixing label boss Mendo's Magic this year. Not to mention a rework of Carl Cox, collaborating with chart-topper Route94 and the small matter of his goodtime piano groover I Wanna Feel blowing away 2014.

His remix of Afro Call manages to be both deep and flexible, making splashes with a bassline both flowing and muddy. Fast-paced yet always in control as if hes skimming through a foam party, he carries over the originals eyes-on-the-prize vibe and turns the pattering of skins throughout into a bubbly lather, roaring into a finale that ups the Samba-tinted shimmying in a jiffy.

In what’s become an annual tradition; Gregor Tresher and Petar Dundov have joined forces for another timeless tech dispatch. It’s been this way since their first collaborative foray ‘Duo Tone’ in 2011 and the results are always incredible. 

This one is particularly special… After years of releasing their collaborations on Music Man, Cocoon and Gregor’s Break New Soil, ‘Metamorphing’ is the superconductors’ debut on Nicole Moudaber’s MOOD and comes in hot pursuit of Nicole’s epic 12 minute revision of Gregor’s ‘Quiet Distortion’ earlier this year. 

We kick off with ‚Sphinx’, where a mammoth rolling drum arrangement carries an evocative riff deep into a mystic breakdown before firing it back out with an additional hook that has already been driving dancefloors insane in Gregor, Petar and Nicole’s sets throughout the summer.

‘Silo’ presents a somewhat haunted theme as echoed chimes shimmer over a deep penetrative groove rising and rising to a destination that only comes into view once you’re past the point of frenzied return. 

Finally we hit ‘Metamorphing’, a track perfectly tailored to MOOD’s dark shadowy signature; a complex weave of cosmocity, a sneaking arpeggio weaves and mutates with a fluidity that sucks you right in and refuses to let you go.

Nicole Moudaber welcomes a kindred spirit to the MOOD family: Fabio Florido. Connected technically through their roles as ambassadors in Hawtin’s Playdifferently movement for innovative technology. Now Fabio and the MOOD founder connect once again with a stunning three-track debut label release. Adding more fuel to his on-point fire on Matador's Rukus earlier this summer, Fabio rolls out another profound, entrancing and vast excursion.

'Pulsar' sees Florido fluctuating, folding and unfolding in his deepest mind state as two sinewy acid tendrils entwine and unravel through a deep undulating bass groove with compelling effect. 'Connection' subverts this entirely in classic Fabio style; upping the tempo, texture and terse sense of momentum, the acid bedrock buzzes like a hornets nest as more percussive layers and sweeping alien FX soar and scorch across the spectrum building with a breath-taking state of contemporary techno oblivion. Finally Fabio brings us back down to reality with 'Underneath'. A warm, measured groove brushed with grainy chords, a palpitating bass/kick fusion, tense percussive elements and a slinky naked acid line flexing and arching throughout the centre of the composition; it's a perfect counter that brings both his icy minimalism and evergreen sense of momentum together in way all his best EPs manage to do. Established in the 90s, Misstress Barbara (word play between Miss and Stress) is a pioneering DJ/Producer and one of the first female superstar DJs who helped inspire future generations with her explosive Techno sets. Whilst headlining major festivals and events globally, there was a period in the ’00s when she was consistently voted inside of DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs.

Born in Italy, she moved to Canada at age 8. Curious and passionate by nature, she loves exploring new fields and reaching new goals. To name a few, she is a drummer, she has a glider and private pilot license, she graduated University in Communications/Cinema, she is a boat captain and sailing instructor, and she also launched her own bean-to-bar chocolate brand Barbon Chocolate, crafting everything by hand herself. A woman of many talents indeed.

But among all of her passions, music was always her main focus since the start of her remarkable career, which has earned her multiple accolades (2001 Best Montreal International Music Initiative Award / 2002 UK Underground Music Awards’ Best Breakthrough DJ / 2009 GAMIQ’s Best Electronic Album of the Year Awards and 2010 Canada’s JUNO Awards’ Best Dance Album of the Year nomination for “I’m No Human” / 2014 MTL Awards’ Best Montreal DJ, to name a few). Her extensive discography is found among the world’s best Techno labels, including her own, launched in 1999 under the name Relentless, which became Iturnem in 2003. Barbara Brown used to be her alter-ego used for her softer productions, but she now releases all her music under her main name, regardless of the style, as she did for her albums I’m No Human and Many Shades of Grey. This might confuse her most loyal techno fans, although they should rest assured that she will never stray away from her first true love: Techno.
