Linnet is a Dutch singer/songwriter who blends her music and theater background to create evocative songs for various projects and theatrical productions.  

In the *Mijn Stad* project by 2turvenhoog, Linnet embarked on a musical journey through Almere Haven. During encounters with parents and children at play cafés (in collaboration with De Schoor), she collected lullabies from diverse cultures, highlighting music’s power to connect. Inspired by these stories, she wrote and developed new songs with producer Jolle Roelofs (Farfler Music) and collaborating musicians, including beatboxer Hurracane the Soundztorm and Maringo Bérénos, who contributed elements of Indian ragas. These rich encounters shaped the album *Dwalen*, celebrating connection, play, and universal musical language.

What is Left is the fourth Solo album from Vanessa Anne Redd. 

“What is Left” is about endings and beginnings. It’s what’s left when everything is stripped away. 

It was written in caves, vineyards, up mountains and surrounded by escaped sheep. It was made making the best of every moment. It’s about love, making love, being love, of finding the beauty in people and life even when things are at their worst.

It’s an ode to the joy of life. It’s joy passes through the Garage rock glam stomp of “In for the Long Haul” and the trumpet stab grooving bass and drums of “Regained”. It’s about leaning in with the cosmos psych folk of “Leaner to the Light”, the power of intimacy through the repetitive bass groove curving round Vanessa’s soft sweet growl and harmonies of “Give me a Window” and the melodic French Horn and dissonant violin fury in the bookends of “Dark of the Sun”. It’s about  positive action, taking a stand however small, the power of change in the country tinged lap-steel hued “A Whistle can Lead a March”. 

The album’s songs pass through Transitions, instrumental sections that pass up and down like transitions in life, through the darkness of modular oscillations and the rise and light of droning violins and brass and high soprano operatic moments.

It’s a winding journey that comes to an end intimately with the minimalness of the solo piano title track “What is Left” about legacy and the memory of loved ones.  We’re led gloriously into the power and strength of nature and human love in the epic “Everything Else Pales” with it’s Wurlitzer, Hammond drone, guitar fuzz and Cale-esque strings, until we’re finally cradled into the quiet of the birds.

Song of thanksgiving appreciating the faithfulness of our God. He is God, there is nothing too hard for Him to do, God doesn't lie, when God speaks, He will surely fulfill what He has said. We can trust Him and He will never fail us nor will He disappoint us after He has given us His words.
