Inspired by the tradition of vibrant rock/blues pioneers, Paris-born guitarist and songwriter Mr. Q crafts dynamic melodies that memorialize the diversity of the music that has sparked his imagination since childhood and celebrate the power of a song to forge meaningful connections. His engaging, original compositions commemorate the fêted and free musical inventors that have moved him to sharpen his craft, including Jimi Hendrix and Serge Gainsbourg. And his dexterous, emotive performances conjure the explosive, charismatic stage presence of artists such as Angus Young, Aerosmith and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. From the belly of his guitar and through his tenacious and timeless voice, Mr. Q. unleashes elegant, deeply personal musical layers and lyrics that act as vivid snapshots of his soul’s most complex and resonant moments.

He was given his first guitar at age eight when, captivated by the groove of classic songs like “Voodoo Child,” he felt compelled to learn every inch of the instrument and to immerse himself fully in the creative process. He immediately began to build his technical proficiency by emulating master musicians and wise storytellers such as Hendrix, Neil Young and Chris Isaak and solidified this foundation through a formal music school education. Now, delighting in the raw, cathartic energy of songwriting and the delicate, multifaceted emotions of each instant that are captured by the recording process, Mr. Q gifts his own songs like eternal souvenirs of life’s rambling journey. Each of his songs is an anthem for his continuing, curious travels, and he sends them out into the world, melodic postcards of the sights and sounds that leave enduring impressions.

Mr. Q recorded his three-song debut EP When Love Dies conjointly in London’s Wax Recording Studio and his own home studio. This three-track album will release Summer, 2012.
