18 months after the release of their 3rd EP, spotlight on leftfield italo, Mister T. records are now back with their first official digital release to light up dancefloors with its load of vintage synths and iconic drum machines.
Fedor aka @SimFossil is a Russian DJ and producer from Moscow, now based in Paris. He started his journey in the electronic scene 10 years ago, producing under his house alias Cossway with many releases on HedZup, Whoyostro, Hatch, Deepolody, Inter records, etc.. Big fan of labels like Mood Hut, Pacific Rhythm or PPU, this new release is a big step for him, making his debut in the 90’s electronic music.
With the Body Contact EP he mixes his influences, coming from the Belgian, Canadian and US underground scenes, to deliver three tracks, complex blends of saturated samples and vintage drum machines. The EP opens with ‘Body Contact’, its most dance-floor friendly track, mixing together the loud and simple rhythms of newbeat jamming with Sim’s distorted house samples. The journey continues with ‘Baseline Traffic’, another powerful tune, diving in the very essence of late 80’s electronic music. Its hypnotic bassline guides us all along, between aerial melodies and filtered synths. Finally, Sim leaves us with ‘Programmed Cruise’, a groovier tribute to proto-house and synth pop, a step back from the newbeat influences of the two first tracks. With its ethnic flutes and percs, Sim managed to provide a lighter twist and a broader range to the EP, showing another dimension of his producing skills.
MTT is proud to release this EP as a tribute to newbeat & as Fedor’s first move with his new alias.
