Nikko.Z's Dopamine White continues a strong start to the year by welcoming Nacho Ross to the label for his debut EP. Argentinean artist Nacho Ross began his journey into electronic music at the age of sixteen, taking inspiration from the likes of Dusty Kid, Plastikman and The Chemical Brothers. The world of music production followed shortly thereafter as the Buenos Aires resident developed his own progressive minded sound. Now known for his atmospheric harmonic progressions, edgy synths and complex rhythmic patterns, Nacho has compiled a short but tidy discography across the last eight years, already finding a home on Julian Rodriguez's Massive Harmony Records. Now, adding Dopamine White to his resume, Nacho debuts on the label with a three-track showcase entitled 'Brave Enough'. 

Beginning with 'Brave Enough' Nacho aims squarely at a peak time dance floor with one of most engaging productions to date. Backed by punchy beats and a warm, rolling groove it's got infectious energy from the outset. Its powerful drive is encased in a perfect balance of electric rhythms, finely tuned percussion and dystopian atmospheres. Retro arps and phasing textures gently elevate mood while bringing greater emotional depth as the main break approaches. Murky atmospheres and muted chord stabs rise across the interlude, flowing through percolating arps, tactfully building tension as the groove drops for a prophetic finale.

Moving on to selection two, the journey continues with the deep, chugging vibes of 'You Just Dare'. Immediately captivating, its muscular bassline, dark undertones and shapeshifting effects make for a groovy first act. Rolling percussion and pensive overlays play off the well carved low end, making for an irresistible, hip swinging rhythm leading into the break. Swirling effects and melodic fragments create a tense canopy of sound as the centrepiece evolves, building anticipation towards a thumping final movement.

The release concludes in fine fashion with the hypnotic qualities of 'Temptation'. Beginning with perfectly sculpted beats and buzzing rhythms it's a production that's compelling from the start. Clattering percussive arrangements and collapsing waves of light slowly encase the framework, as the low end moves through rolling contours and mountainous undulation. Building to a feverish pitch, it's a retro-arp which proves most striking, adding further depth and drama throughout a spine-tingling apex. Energetic and tense in equal measure, it rounds out what is an inspired EP from Nacho Ross, an artist who continues to rise up through the progressive house landscape as 2023 begins to take shape.

After a host of impressive releases on Proton Music dating back to late 2013, James Monro launched his "Sanctuary" series in November 2020 with a typical style and panache. "Vol. 2" followed in late 2021 as the UK artist now returns with a third volume combining a trio of original pieces plus a pair of standout remixes. The "Isolator" opener is a smooth downtempo piece infused with meandering jazz-infused melodies. Effortlessly building energy through intelligent use of an expanding rhythmic backdrop, a strong bassline with growling accents and dynamic effects provides a rousing finale. The power of Rockers Unite" is in immediate evidence via a glissando bassline that drives the heavy beat and hypnotic top-line through a gently evolving sweep. A delicate arpeggio adds to the melodic flow as vocal cuts and white-noise infused pads open-up post breakdown to a glorious and imaginative zenith. Characterised by a chunky rhythmic framework and deep bass sequence, "Reflex" gently evolves over its near 9-minute timeframe as each movement is introduced with a percussive and melodic element. Gently pulsing pads and atmospheric vocal sample add to the sultry atmosphere, while a joyous synth motif enters the fray post-breakdown.

Award-winning Jamie Stevens has become a Proton Music regular since a remix of Rudy's "All Things Fade" in 2019. Reworkings of Petar Dundov and Magitman have followed in December 2020 and June 2021 while the Australian artist, renowned for his work on the likes of Bedrock, Lost & Found and microCastle, now returns to Proton with an outstanding interpretation of "Another Weirdo". Originally part of "Sanctuary, Vol. 1", Jamie Sevens applies his trademark technique and craftsmanship to create a vibrant new version that shimmers with filtered arpeggio that is rooted firmly in James Monro's original. Evolving atop heavy beat and strong off-beat percussion, the track pauses for breath at the mid-point before building once more into sparkling sunlit offering that is certain to fill dancefloors across the globe.

A second remix sees the return of Sylvain Guiraud under his Clawz SG moniker. A Steyeyoke resident with over 150 production credits on the Soul Button led label, the French artist has created quite a stir on Proton Music with his 2019 "Domuyo" and 2021 "Urania" EPs that have included remixes from such prominent artists as Jonas Saalbach and Robert Babicz. Now returning to Proton with a debut remix, the Clawz SG interpretation of "Injected with a Serum" is a glorious melodic techno infused track that replaces the broken beat rhythm with a ticking four-to-the-floor powerhouse. A sublime growling bassline gradually emerges, built upon Monro's closing section, as a mesmerising arpeggio then provides the perfect juxtaposition. A bassline mirrored leads adds further weight in the second half to a spectacular conclusion.

Finding refuge in music, James Monro continues to inspire and soothe through "Sanctuary, Vol. 3".

We are very glad to present you the debut EP from our befriended DJ and Deepersense Music's artist from Poland. Hailing from Wrocław, but living in Kraków for many years, Mikołaj aka Kola is not a newcomer on the scene and in the Deepersense Music family. About a year ago we had a pleasure to release his track "Under the Radar" on 7th volume of our flagship mini-compilation called „Deeper Roots". This time we can enjoy the EP release with two excellent tracks included. Both "Artemis" and "Asteria" are full of groove and drive, perfect to put the dancefloor on fire. DJ sets by Kola are full of energetic tracks on the border of techno, deep-tech and progressive and you can feel it also in his productions. Definitely worth checking out and adding to your playlists!
