Mistrio was established in 2009 in sunny Singapore, fronted solely by Singaporean multi-instrumentalist and composer Matthew Tay. 

Rooted in heavy metal and hard rock, his music soon ventured out towards a more progressive and melodic sound, inspired by the likes of greats such as progressive metal giants Dream Theater, melodic death metal household Children of Bodom and also modern djenters like Periphery.
