Egyptian born singer and songwriter NAILA steps up to Beatroot Records with a sublime new single ‘Cant Keep Up’ that comes with a fine remix from Misty. Naila is a multidisciplinary performer, but began her career as a vocalist with her hit cover of Moloko’s “Sing It Back” in 2018. She’s since had further hits with “Give a Little”, and “Coward”, and impresses once again here with “Can’t Keep Up”.

‘Cant Keep Up’ fuses r&b vocals with contemporary production that draws from pop, trap and hip hop. to indie pop. It has a skewed bassline down low with bumpy beats and dramatic chords adding to the emotional overload of the vocals. A spine tingling breakdown rebuilds the mood and leads into another potent drop. Can’t Keep Up (Misty Remix) is deep and progressive house for the dance floor. The hits are crisp, the bass is textured and the chords take you to the cosmos.

A few weeks ago, I got contacted by House of Afandi to be part of the ‘By The People, For The People’ compilation project. An album containing works from artists around the world in support of Palestine, with 100% of donations and purchased of the album going directly towards the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund. 

The album features music from 40 artists from likes of Saliah, Moving Still, El Waili , Autostrad, Bosq and many more.

For the Sandbox Festival 10 Year anniversary, I had the pleasure to play the closing set for the beach hut stage on Friday after the amazing Salome Le Chat. For me Sandbox is one of the funnest and most well organized festivals in the world. This fun day time set will remain as one of my fondest memories in my music career to date.
