The latest release on Alan Fitzpatrick's We Are The Brave imprint sees genre-defying artist Ten- zella collaborate with three different talents on his three tracker “Tenzella and Friends”.

Following the success of his “Santiago EP” which received support from Nina Kraviz at The Ware- house Project, Timewarp and Seismic Dance Event; the Liverpudlian has pulled out all the stops, inviting Josef, Drumatix and techno veteran Mark Broom to collaborate on his new release.

Tenzella’s no nonsense approach to studio time is unprecedented and his latest EP “Tenzella & Friends” sees the artist at his best; the tracks are dark, dystopian and layered with hypnotic grooves.

“Ruins" made in collaboration with Josef opens the release with its rattling percussion and bleeping melody. Next up “SPV3”, a jacking funk machine made with industry icon Mark Broom. The EP closes with “Rabbit” from Tenzella and Drumatix, another exciting raw talent hailing from Liverpool. Bursting with frantic energy, this collab is dramatic and oozing with industrial textures that transport us to the smoky warehouse dancefloor.

SHDW & Obscure Shape offer up their first EP on new imprint Mutual Rytm as they drop five fresh and expansive techno cuts across their ‘Poetic Justice’ EP.

A duo that has ascended to become leading names within today’s techno landscape, SHDW & Obscure Shape continue to grow and evolve while shaping their own unique sound fusing classic influences with a modern touch. Their latest project saw the birth of Mutual Rytm – a new imprint launched in early 2022 set to showcase a deep dive into the duo’s musical roots via their own productions alongside material from the label’s close family of likeminded artists. Following the label’s opening multi-artist VA and the first solo EP from Berlin’s Lars Huismann, June welcomes the first solo instalment from the label founders themselves as they ready a killer five-tracker set to make an impact.

A1’ Turbulence’ sets the pace as the duo delve into nimble rhythms which ebb and flow effortlessly to reveal a hypnotic slice of modern techno permeated with classic, old school cues, while ‘Pulse’ takes up a darker aesthetic, keeping the energy high as metallic drum licks guide driving sub-bass and resonant stabs. On the Bside, title cut ‘Poetic Justice’ balances warping vocals with swinging percs amongst a layered, drum-laden kinetic workout, exemplifying the duo’s drive for combining and contrasting various shades of techno. Next up, ‘Set It Off’ welcomes the introduction of expansive melodies to offer an entrancing late-night cut, before turning to the unhurried grooves, salient hats and sweeping atmospherics of ‘Killing Me Softly’.

Digital bonus ‘Before Sunset’ once again delves into lighter, breezy territories while keeping the classic rolling techno touches throughout, shaping up the package with a powerful yet agile closing production.

Luigi Madonna returns to Drumcode a year after his superb single ‘Primo’ using familiar hooks, huge stabs and monstrous drums that storm across the dance floor which, are common with Mr Madonna. The hard hitting raw vibe of this EP gives Luigi an edge, with fluttering high’s and saturated lows, Luigi’s tracks are a mainstay in all DJ sets. The EP encompasses different emotions throughout that can be felt within the track ‘Singer One’, offering a more mellow side to Luigi’s already expansive catalogue.

When Pig&Dan decided to join forces, they began a truly prolific production schedule establishing their reputation as producers of pulsating electronic music that straddled dark house and high-energy techno, whilst creating their signature style of twisted and experimental breakdowns. Since those early days, they have created a repertoire that not many can match and have constantly been releasing their music on the most respected labels and playing at the best events worldwide.

Pig&Dan follow up to their outstanding first EP on Drumcode with ‘Chemistry’. Compromising of three tracks the mood fluctuates with each record to create a well-balanced, dynamic EP. Chemistry is a dreamy listening platform that mixes cyclic synth lines and stabs to crescendo into a late night imagination. The other two tracks are on the harder tip with their thunderous kick drums and disorientated sounds that provide a different edge to the EP with a harder, peak time sound.

We Are The Brave front man Alan Fitzpatrick provides the labels next release with a typically incendiary two-tracker. Delving deep into his record collection for inspiration, the result is a brace of distinct, ear-catching cuts that tip a hat to by-gone times in rave culture and have returned big reactions from contemporary crowds all summer. 

The aptly titled “They All Called ‘Em Garys” combines droning hardcore hoovers and power piano with Fitzpatrick’s trademark heavy tech funk. While “Rhino” adopts a slung-back groove of resounding bass and tense pads overlaid with a knockout melody that bubbles away before unleashing its full chord progression through an unashamedly epic breakdown.
