Our second album.  Recorded with Peter Coulthard, mostly in my bathroom.  Peter added all the weird noises and did the production.  I did the singing and the acoustic guitars, except for one scary deep vocal on "I Still Dream of You...".

Last Man

The first full album by Mitch &amp; Murray.  The lineup from Field Recordings EP got Melanie Ballam on bass and recorded this in 2006.  It started with a track we intended to release as a one off ("Surviving Desire") and then developed into a full blown album.  The recordings, as usual, were done in a bedroom in my parents' house.  Most of the songs were written as a group, with little of the old format of me writing a song and getting them to fill in the gaps.

Bring Out Your Dead (Demo)

Written in about 2012.  This was intended to be one of the last songs written for Mitch & Murray as it summed up my overall experience of being in bands up until this point.

Perpetual Bridesmaids (Demo)

The last song to be written (albeit unfinished) with the Big Line-Up of myself, Nathan Shwalbe, Charlotte Rose, Lydia Pickering, Daniel Page and Stephen Hazel.  It got played live once as three piece with Stephen and Will Heritage in the last gig as some sort of band.

Alluding To Something (Demo)

"Perpetual Bridesmaids" was a symbolic end to the Mitch & Murray material until I wrote this.  It kind of rounded off 10 years of writing about failed relationships by talking about one that seemed to work.  This is officially the last Mitch & Murray song. (Written in 2013, about October).

Re: Future Girlfriends (Demo)

Can't remember when this was written.  Definitely after we did the poppy stuff like Judas.  Probably the first return to the "Sad Day For British Wrestling" style stuff.

Little Hands (Demo)

The first up-tempo Mitch & Murray song.  Name is a nod to my own Dylan Goes Electric moment.  Written with the Big Line-Up (Nathan, Charlotte, Lydia, Stephen  and Dan).

Written about 2012.  Played live once at an acoustic solo show.  Never played with a full band.

Why I Forgot To Write Your Wedding Song (Demo)

The third tune written with the Big Line-Up with mandolin, keys, violin, trumpet, four backing vocals and all sorts.  Here it's a little less gran.


Things Will Come To You (Not Good and Not Soon) (Demo)

A big epic show starter/stopper which was the first tune to be written by the new line-up of Nathan, Stephen, Dan, Charlotte, Lydia and myself.  A massive sound but not quite captured here on an acoustic.

Things I Really Don't Need Right About Now (demo)

One of the slow ones we did as part of the big band.  A live favourite to play, but not one for the audience.  Fuck 'em.
