To celebrate the release of Noble’s ‘Junctions’ EP, we are very happy to present J River’s electric vocal version of the incredible title track, ‘Junctions’. Known for his intricate verse design and witty wordplay, J River provides the perfect addition to what is already a highly intense instrumental. We are pleased to announce the label debut from Chow Down affiliate and NTS regular Grizzle, who joins the Liminal Sounds family with his new EP, ‘Consort’, featuring ShaqyDread.

Building on the foundations laid by his previous releases, including a self-released collaborative EP with Fallow and the standout ‘Entreaty’ on Blacklink Sound’s ‘Black Label Edition 2’ last year, the new record is Grizzle’s most fully realised project to date.

Across the four tracks, Grizzle’s layered, vivid instrumentals are the product of the colliding musical and individual connections that have informed the EP. Taking inspiration from a new wave of UK rap experimentation whilst tapping into something more personal and contemplative, ‘Consort’ is a potent blend of emotion and energy.

Opening with the colourful, RnB inflected bump and grind of the title track, Grizzle then teams up with ShaqyDread on ‘Sermon’, a shock of wiry percussion, moody synths and booming bass anchored by the Tottenham MC’s versatile delivery. Switching gears again, ‘Eleusis’ releases the pressure with its glistening melodies and emotive, pitched-up vocals before the EP plays out on the languorous, bittersweet soul of closing track ‘Unmoor’.

I've been a massive fan of BFM (@bloodklartfiyahmandem) for quite some time now. It's a partnership between JFO (@manlikejfo) and Sativa (@sativasteppa). Both artists are very unique in their solo productions but when you bring them together something very special happens. 
It's a very rare sound the duo produce, like some mad hybrid of grime and dubstep, I rate it very highly. I've wanted to get them on board with @strictly140 for a while now and with Sativa already putting a free download out with us, and a few things already in the pipeline with JFO, it only seemed right that we put something out from BFM.

BFM were featured in one of Magnetic Magazines grime articles at the start of the year, here's what they had to say about their track "Wig Spit Riddim".

"BFM - Wig Split Riddim - BFM (Bloodklart Fiyah Mandem) is a partnership between two very well respected producers of Grime & Dubstep, JFO & Sativa. They both have unique styles when it comes to their own productions but bring them together and the outcome is quite special. BFM create spacious, stripped back grime. There is almost a deep dubstep influence to their productions, merge that with their skippy drum loops & reggae vocal samples and you’ve got a kind of dubstep infused grime sound that is incredibly rare but easily recognizable. Wig Split Riddim is exactly that, starting off with some low, soulful strings in the intro, then followed by their classic adlib just before the drop. Once the song has dropped the mixture of the low sub-heavy bassline and the high pitched synths really gives this tune levels. Be sure to check them out on soundcloud for any new music they might be releasing."

We at @strictly140 like to try and shine light on relatively unknown artists with our free downloads, (as well as promote artists that have already solidified themselves deeply within the scene). We try and unearth new talent and showcase people that we think, in time will become household names within the scene. 

For a while now we've had our eye's on the european producer known as DMG. We first heard of him about 6 months ago with his remix of '19 kilos' by Sketta. It got a few radio plays and we decided to hit him up to see what other things he was working on. 

We heard this track being played on 'Rinse FM France' a few weeks ago and knew DMG had made something that was right up our street. Low sub bass shrouds the entire track whilst the famous Eski beat sound is heard over the top. Great experimental track this one. Look out for more from DMG in the future.
