I cannot describe how magical of a start to the weekend this was for me aside from a series of events. Came across and into the conversational company of this couple from Boca Raton by the painters up top and so effortlessly exchanged care and joy for a few minutes and then they invited me to the pit to share a smoke and right as we sparked YOU GAVE ME(us all) VIKTOR F*CKING VAUGHN- hearing DOOM at Suwannee fulfilled a joy in me that I never knew was needed for, artistically emotional closure(?) Thank you for bringing and sharing your energy to the swamp, thanks for the liftoff captian. <3

omg who r u already haha i've never had so much excitement for someone whose music I have never heard

I was asked to DJ at The Rendezvous under a new alias that I have been conceptualizing for quite some time. Although I was unprepared on the production side, I could not pass up the opportunity to play alongside some of my good friends & earliest influences.

Setting a meaningful tone for the entire festival weekend felt challenging yet perfect for where I want this project to go: a return to the roots of how we all got here through the vessel of golden age trip-hop & electronica. More importantly, I wanted to blend rustic gems with newer dancefloor-centric downtempo tracks that have been fueling my curiosity. Stepping on stage & getting to showcase my current & all-time favorite songs, those formative to my personal music journey & @satellite_era as a growing entity, was truly a dream come true. 

I cannot emphasize how grateful I am to have been part of this transformative experience. Endless love to Tipper & The Rendezvous team for all the work they put in to make this event happen - everything was perfect from start to finish. What a privilege it was to play music at the legendary Suwannee amphitheater! I also got to reconnect with so many beautiful humans from around the country after years of sharing this community. A huge shoutout to my brother @relativitylounge for taking this adventure on with me - playing club music together at a renegade in the campsite until 7 AM is something I will never forget.

Mithra - DJ Set @ The Rendezvous 2024

Mithra (fka Streets) is the latest sonic effort of Chicago native Amir Mashayekhi. 

The new alias derives from stylistic crossroads & an attempt to tether his downtempo past with club-centric genres, proudly fusing his Latin & Persian heritage along the way. The byproduct results in challenging yet emotive DJ sets where no niche is left unexplored, from oddball techno to frantic jungle & beyond. 

He is also the co-founder & label manager of @satellite_era, having spearheaded countless A/V projects around the experimental music sphere.
