@adam-stromstedt is a Swedish producer, growing up in Stockholm, but currently residing in Sydney, Australia. He runs a label called @lyssna-records alongside fellow Swedish producer Flord King (lyssnarecords.bandcamp.com). They have such an awesome catalog of really tasteful & insanely groovy house on the deeper side. Adam has been running a regular radioshow in Sydney throughout the entire pandemic called @always-sometimes. He was nice enough to have me on the show twice for guestmixes & the show became my regular evening cooking / wind down soundtrack during the week for the last year or so. They just had their 50th & final Orbital Radio episode earlier this month (all episodes can be found here: soundcloud.com/always-sometimes). His music is incredibly meditative & groovy with so much thought & care put into sound choice, rhythm, witty vocal samples, etc. He has these extremely punchy, clean & crisp mixdowns that I've envied since first hearing his Redfern EP back in 2019. Acid house label Chicago Bee will release the compilation ‘Home Listening - Acid & House’ on 7 November, on vinyl and digitally. 

The vision for the ‘Home Listening' compilation album was to create a collection of tracks that complement each other and are fitting for repeated home listening. Being somewhat of a conceptual experiment, all the artists on the album were asked to imagine fusing Acid and House with the Virtualsex LP which was released on Buzz in 1993. A 303 sound would be welcomed but not essential with an emphasis on soulful emotion and melody.   

Some of the artists are people who label boss Mark Churcher (aka A-Eno-Acid) has struck up a relationship with since starting Chicago Bee and some targeted deliberately as Mark thought they would be able to hit the brief. The project threw up many interesting results with some artists drifting outside of their normal comfort zone! Artists featured include Derek Carr, Type 303, Fear-E, Forgotten Corner, and label boss A-Eno-Acid. 

From Finland, Dan Kaipio has become a versatile and prolific artist over recent years and this is his second appearance on Chicago Bee. With EP releases on the popular I Love Acid and Downfall Recordings labels to his name, he’s no mug. He nails a vintage acid sound with his track, ’Stairway To Jupiter’.
