The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from Indigo Plateaux. The Berlin-based based American artist is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and DJ devoted to continuing the tradition of queer Black excellence in House and Techno. Conceived in Paradise Garage and raised by a DJ father, rhythm was both in the household and in their bones, which shines clear in their sharp as a whip productions and selections alike. They've been consistently releasing some great tracks and we're thrilled to start the year with this phenomenal podcast delivering fresh energy to our year.

Dillon Lucas & Indigo Plateaux are American music producers and DJs known as Shifty. They are based in Berlin and are pushing the boundaries of techno and house music with their innovative sound. They were drawn to the vibrant underground scene in Berlin and formed Shifty to create forward-thinking electronic music.

Indigo Plateaux is a dynamic force in the Berlin techno and house scene, bringing a unique blend of black queer culture and pulsating beats to dance floors across the city. Originally hailing from Maplewood, New Jersey, Indigo’s journey into the world of music began at an early age, sparked by a deep passion for electronic sounds and a desire to express their identity through art. 

After honing their craft in the vibrant underground scenes of New Jersey and New York, Indigo made the bold move to Berlin, drawn by its reputation as a melting pot of creativity and diversity. It was here that they found their true voice as a producer and DJ, seamlessly weaving together intricate rhythms and hypnotic melodies to create immersive sonic experiences.

MITMIXEN 068 - Indigo Plateaux

Playing afterhours holds a very special place in my heart. It was exactly at these intimate settings where I learned the art of DJing about a decade ago and it was kinda normal for me to play hours and hours on end. During these marathon sessions you nearly forget everything around you and just lose yourself in the music. But they also hold space to tell an extensive story and take you on a journey through various subgenres and the rich history of electronic music - from house and disco to trance and techno - something that isn't possible in a typical club context with two-hour playtimes. I clearly remember my longest set back then went 9,5 hours, an experience that made me realize how much I love this craft and it became a full-circle moment for me when my first official afterhour with a greater audience at our lovely Tresor.West garden in May earlier this year lasted just as long 🩶
It was such a beautiful opportunity for me to create a versatile, intimate and emotional vibe that I cherish so deeply and it became even more beautiful to see that the people catched that vibe, too. As an expression of my gratitude for this magical moment and all these people who fully embraced this journey with me, l've decided to upload a little glimpse into that 10-hour ride so we can relive this memory again and again.

Overall the type of beats to turn not only a frown, but also a club upside down. Utilizing this skill, DJ Frank has played in notable venues. With her collective @prude__ she hosts events and offers DJ-Workshops, setting out to become any techno-scene-gatekeeper's worst nightmare.

Today, Agora Podcast series is back with a special episode featuring an extract from one of our latest event at Macadam in Nantes: an exclusive 2-hour set by Vixen.

One of Copenhagen’s finest, Bulgarian-born DJ and producer Vixen (she/her) perfectly encapsulates the visceral energy running through the Danish electronic scene. As a member of DIY rave collective Fast Forward and resident of queer sex-positive party series Bedside, she has been enchanting dancefloors near and far with a playful touch.

In parallel she is continuously developing her sound as a producer with a growing catalogue of releases behind her, most notably her debut EP “Hard Magick For Soft Souls” and appearances on Schacke's Sacred Interface, as well as established Berlin-based Space Trax.
