This is a short track coming into existence due to the little download problem that I discovered when trying to download Mental Anguish two MNG stream sets. Maybe, ...maybe the problem lies within some issue about character # and browser Firefox in combination with Windows XP Proffessional but really this is a wild guess and this now tends to be "Action #367".  :) We'll see. Anyway, this little 39 sec. thing starts now to live its own life as the birds also do on top of my chimney. (and in this track)

Mall

Piece based on a fieldrecording made in Lviv, Ukraine for the Overnight Cistern Simulation. Composition and finalization made 30th june to 1st july 2014. The piece was played upon the "Dream Cistern - An Overnight Concert for Deep Listeners on the the 12th and 13th july 2014 at the Deep Listening festival at EMPAC/RPI, Troy, NY. To this piece was added upon playback the impulse-reverb simulation from Dan Harpole Cistern in Fort Worden State Park, Port Townsend, Washington, USA. Amphitrite

First track recorded with the monotron device! Curious to see what I can do with this little nice gift from my students! Thanks you all! Two overlayed takes with some audiomulch live processing together with a piezo microphone just under the monotron also fed into the audiomulch patch. Inspiration for the piece was coming from a great canoeing on the river Ångermanälven on the 2nd june 2011.

Sollefteå Lökom Canoes

This is the second monotron track. This is a sound-on-sound track basically, with no retakes (5 times) and some editing on eq and start/end trimming.

Green Tea in the Park

This is a piece I prepared and played live at Hola Sessions on the Dec 14th 2023, Prästmon. It´s made with 2 harmonicas, AudioMulch (delay, granulator, arpeggiosynth), one small tourist bell (from Cambridge) and a kalimba built by one of the sons of Hukwe Zawose (Bagamoyo, Tanzania). The "Hola" reference in title is both to the series of books like "Hej Klarinett" and "Hej Piano", beginners notebooks. Hola is spanish for "Hej" (hello in english). I am a beginner in harmonica. I love the sounds from it. So a rediscovering and saying hello to this instrument. The other Hola reference is the "Hola folkhögskola", the folk high school up in the north of Sweden, where I work. Hola Sessions is a series of concerts that has happened there for about 10 years. (The 50 Cent reference - at first it was named Hola Harmonica 50 Cent) has not much to do with the artist 50 Cent more than one of my students wanted me to make a live remix of a track by 50 Cent, or a mashup that I suggested. Now it happened to be more of a mashup in the title of this piece and a bit of sortof  after construction that the harmonicas I played on might have costed 50 Cent at some moment in history. This is as most oftly played live while recording, so it is no edits except some slight compression and some slight EQ added. Hope you enjoy!  Photo by Henrik Ljusberg

Alea Iacta Est

FIELD OF TEN THOUSAND FLOWERS. 10.000 sounds - 2.500 sounds in groups of four - short colorful sounds - like flowers and leaves in a field, presenting themselves - auralizes themselves - for the listeners in the field. (can locally be 4 speakers fed from a 4 track sound interface.) Also listenable on internet as 2 tracks. (left-right field). The 10000 sounds piece can be an ever-changing piece with random presentations. I am thinking and sketching in my mind on a Pd-patch that can make this happens in many variations. For the 20th march I would like to present maybe just 2 or 3 versions with this concept. I will be in Sweden by then. If there is an event, maybe it is possible to start two stereo-files simultaneously feeding 2 pair of speakers, 4 in total? I imagine the piece to be presented in circa 10 minutes - and it could be going on repeating as well - if that is an option.

I regard it as a acknowledge of the people in the Ghost Ship - connected to a very vivid dream I had in 2015 of a Field of Flower, I think it was just before I was going to the DL Arctic Retreat in northern Norway that I was dreaming this - it´s about a house - and passing that house there is a wonderful field of wonderful flowers. It´s like I can touch these. My piece seems to be heading toward a minimalistic randomized piece that for me wants to express beautiful fields. I will continue to work with the piece also after the 20th march to also include performance playing interactions.

Phonation Test3

This was made upon preparing for open rehearsal performance with EAO on the 13th june 2020. Some new ways to control sounds and use of sounds recorded both earlier in spring and some years ago. Dictaphone recordings from 2017. Birds recorded in Sollefteå, Sweden in early march 2020 and the clarinets, fireworks and motorcycles was recorded in Biñan, Philippines on new years eve of 2017. Live recorded through the patch in AudioMulch used for this project.
