In the last few years I've been dropping some hot remixes featuring the legendary Anita Baker in my Soulful House sets every so often, and more than a few of you have asked me to make an entire "Anita Mix!" So I dug up a few of her older classic gems and put together this piece. I just realized that's its been quite a few years since I've done a tribute like this, so I guess it's a tad bit overdue. 2020 saw Reel People Music release many a soulful gem but none more so than Sebb Junior’s stunning collaboration ‘Special’ featuring US R&B singer/songwriter Muhsinah.

2023 now sees a wonderful new interpretation of Special courtesy of one of the UK’s most talented musicians & producers, Kaidi Tatham.

Special was part of Sebb’s ‘Together Alone’ EP and alongside Muhsinah saw Sebb team up with some prestigious talent including Eric Roberson, Paula, Karmina Dai and Reel People’s very own Mike Patto. 

Originally from France but now very happily settled in Spain, Sebb Junior is one of house music’s modern day heroes. DJ, producer & all round good guy, Sebb’s quality and consistency is undeniable thanks to releases on hugely respected labels like Large Music, Madhouse Records, Papa Records, Sub Urban Music, Nervous Records, Milk & Sugar, Quantize Records, Let There Be House and his own label  La Vie D’Artiste Music. 

Hailing from Washington DC, Muhsinah continues to push the boundaries of soul and electronic fusion. Her previous boundary-breaking output has, impressively, earned the attention of luminaries ranging from Common to Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and makes Muhsinah one of the most exciting and unique talents.

Kaidi Tatham is a legendary multi-instrumentalist born in the Midlands and based in Belfast. Established as one of the original creators of the Broken Beat sound, he is a virtuoso on the keys and a true innovator in sound production. 
A deeply prolific artist, Kaidi has just released his beautiful 5th solo album ‘The Only Way’, following on First Word Records.

Kenny Summit finally releases his Minimal Deepness remix of the classic house anthem FINALLY.  Originally produced in 2011, this 'for personal use only' mix by Kenny was only given to a select few DJ friends over the years and has become somewhat of a 'mythical mix' in that many thought the Djs who were playing this record were creating the mix on the fly.  Now available to everyone, we do ask you please pay tribute to the original vocalist by either following her on Spotify or simply buy the original vocal track on itunes or where ever you buy your music.

I have been overcoming a serious health condition but I'm back. Enjoy the music. 

I believe real DJing is a lost art. The commercial radio stations play the same old, tight rotation of music and don't introduce any new or innovative music. My friends often ask who is that particular artist or what song is that on my mix tapes and ask why that song or artist isnʼt played on the radio? I have always believed that entertaining and educating  people while they are getting their groove on is a DJs job and I will continue to believe that.
