Chris is a Dj and Producer from inner city Birmingham UK and has a vast experience as a DJ.  He has dh’d up and down the country for some legendary promoters including Fantazia / Pandemonium / Amazon vs Jungle Fever / Eclipse reunion / Milwaukees reunion to name a few!!

Chris is primarily a multi genre DJ with a focus on Oldskool Hardcore, House, Techno, Jungle, and of course Drum and Bass. Alongside Bullet, Chris also produces dance floor focused Drum and Bass under the alias - Paradigm.

The mighty Top Buzz are all time legends in my eyes. Jason Kaye and Mad P always originated and never compensated. They played for the ravers to educate and entertain without anthem bashing.
Therefore i recorded this mix in tribute containing most of my favourites they used to play in 1992. Since i recorded this mix, Jason Kaye passed on. This is now a proper tribute to a king and legend!

“Best Female DJ” – 2017 We Love Jungle Awards 

With three nominations and one award for Best Female DJ at the We Love Jungle Awards, appearances with Kenny Ken on both Origin and Rough Tempo, monthly shows with Bellyman, dates lined up across the US and a tonne of b2b sets with pioneers of the genre such as Nicky Blackmarket and Garry K, things are working out well for Mrs Magoo. 

Her unmistakeable sets, built on a foundation of smooth rolling dnb and crashing amens are liberally sprinkled with ragga and when combined with her impeccable style, both on and off the decks and her infectious energy it’s easy to see how she’s making a mark.

But it’s been a journey getting to where she is. 

It kicked off back way back when she was just 8 years old, borrowing tape packs from her dad; the sounds of Helter Skelter, Accelerated Culture and Sidewinder all playing just a part of the musical influences she absorbed growing up, which when coupled with the punk and rock her mum loved gave her a solid foundation from which to draw her sound.

Come 17 years old, she was hitting her first rave – Rebirth, and soon after that was getting her hands on a pair of 1210’s, back then though… her sound of choice was happy hardcore. After a weekly internet radio show led to some bookings, Mrs Magoo found herself increasingly drawn to the sounds of jungle and dnb and by 2013 she was a certified junglist. That year saw her playing her first headline set at Jungle Nation in Aberdeen, one of Scotland’s longest running jungle nights.

Joining Deep in the Jungle Records and residencies at Jungle Splash London, Unity Edinburgh and Better Breakbeat Bureau USA have helped her carve out a name for herself. She’s now taken things full circle; from early days listening to mixtapes - to making her own, from a bright eyed young raver taking her first tentative steps into Rebirth, to performing at Glastonbury Festival the largest greenfield festival in the world.

Mrs Magoo-Exclusive Mix-The Everyday Junglist Podcast-Episode 365

Back in the early 2000s I was raving every weekend and besides the hardcore I absolutely loved drum & bass, going to One Nation, World Dance, Flashback, Slammin and of course Accelerated Culture, which was born out of Helter Skelter and would later go on to become Random Concept...which is still going today in 2020!

Accelerated Culture was probably the biggest promoter of this golden era of drum & bass with regular sold out parties at The Sanctuary, Code (or Air)and Que Club in Birmingham amongst others. I was lucky enough to go to a few AC events at The Sanctuary as well as Code which was only 25 minutes away. Back in 2000/1 I had no worries, I lived either my parents or at uni and all my money would go on rave tickets and records, so I was out every weekend raving. 

AC would always book different DJs who would play across the board from jump up to dark to rollers to liquid to vocal to old skool stuff and back again, this era really was without limits when it came to style. I wanted to capture that broad scope of D&B with 60 or so of my absolute favourites from these golden years. Check it out! 

The picture is from one of my favourite AC's I went to, the D&B awards in December 2001, one of the messiest nights of my life and I still listen to the sets regularly 20 years later. Good music never gets old...
