fka boursin is a DJ and producer out of Bristol, UK. 
Previously known as DJ Boursin, he is recognized for his deep, ambient-infused house music that explores political dimensions of clubs and identity politics.

Welcomed into the Scissor & Thread fold, fka boursin shares two cuts of deep and introspective electronic music. 

The original Listless Intertext is a hazy trip through ambient soundscapes, shuffling rhythms and half-caught conversations, drifting across a 12 minute run time that slowly evolves and shifts with time.  

"Listless Intertext is a track centred around the "failed" employment of cheap vocoder software that attempted to process explicit words and phrases across 11 minutes." says fka boursin. "Instead, the vocoder output made any words indecipherable and I was left with thematic vagueness. The final text of the track is simply a submission to its own limitations with some french thrown in."

When label bosses Frank & Tony step up for their Housebeat Dub, they keep the essential mood but introduce a thick, fat groove that works just as well in conveying the mood. 

"Our remix is a strictly dancefloor approach," says Frank, "an extended psychedelic beat rework perfect for late night, early morning vibes".

Windows (formally DJ Windows XP) kicks things off with their familiar dusty and melancholic drive, pulling all the right heart strings on ‘I Wanted To Share My Feelings But You Kept Talking’. Label owner Lorca’s ‘Sirens’ follows this on a similar, ravey vibe with stomping kicks, breaks, breast beating string samples and bleeps. 
  		
The flip side sees the talented and experienced Intr0beatz in amazing form utilising rich, orchestral strings and his signature house grooves to produce the infectious ‘For The Love’.  

Keith Lorraine (also known as Baby Rollen) of London is up next with the emotionally rich ‘Wild Flower’. The track builds nicely into the final cut ‘Dreams’ from Canada’s Mathew Ferness. Here we see the artist at his best, using looping vocals and piano stabs to great effect, completing an EP that will work just as well in your headphones as it will on the dance floor. We’re in it For The Love.

No. 22 of the CommaCast Series invites microminimal label head and collective co-founder, Meaney to take the reigns and share with us his diverse and deeply dug tune discoveries.

Based between London and Toronto, Meaney has been grabbing our attention recently with his continuous work and passion for the underground minimal scene, pushing his productions and talents as a DJ across the globe in cities such as Berlin, Bogotá, London, Los Angeles, and Toronto. With influences drawing from micro-house, rominimal and tripped back deep house, it was only a matter of time before getting his name on the CommaCast Series.

What we're blessed with is an hour of finely pieced together old school, warehouse inspired garage and minimal that had us locked in from the very first track, we like to think of this mix as a homage to the old school spelt out with input from the new.
