This was back in 2013, when SoundCloud had just started rolling out its premiere feature. One of the first to embrace it were LYO — the Parisian DJ duo playing gigs all around the globe, constantly sharing new music through their SoundCloud page. Always open to help, support, or offer advice, they quickly became a key part of the scene.

It’s no secret that when we started our podcast series, we were influenced by pages like LYO and Krossfingers. They’ve been a source of inspiration for years.

Today, we’re happy to announce a major milestone: the 350th episode of our main podcast series — and who better to mark the occasion than the kings of premieres themselves, Les Yeux Orange.

Strange Cadence is an independent record label and event series run by @Middle-James, dedicated to showcasing the intersection of jazz, deep house, techno and leftfield electronic. Based in Sydney, the label is driven by a passion for groove-rich productions and live performances where musicality takes center stage.

This new mix series continues to spotlight the vibrant Australian underground music scene. Episode 2 features a special recording from Melo, captured during her recent closing set at the Strange Cadence x CG Discs party, supporting Australian ambient/jazz/electronic collective @GODTET. Demonstrating her mastery of all things deep, Melo’s selections effortlessly glide from deep house, tech house, and classic house to dub and techno - crafting a rich and immersive two-hour journey. Australian talent Jad & The, co-founder of the Beats of No Nation label, takes to the budding Down By The Lake imprint to deliver a stack of deep house cuts on his 'Two Dancing' EP, including an atmospheric remix by Moomin that comes complete with subtle acid stabs. 

The 12“ features hand-stamped artwork on offset disco-sleeves with drawings and typography by Stefan Marx.

The 'Two Dancing' EP is set for release in November.
