Remixing “Room 3” is the dub techno wizard Alexander Bogdanov. Russian-born and Belarus-based, Alexander is at his musical peak after recent impressive releases on labels such as Seven Villas, Greyscale, and spclnch, now adding REFRACTION to his list. With sharp sweeps and evolving noises, Alexander delights us with his haunting aesthetic in a memorable piece of dub techno.

This genre-blurring three-track release showcases his wide sonic palette and passion for hands-on sound design. The title track, Vocoder Boi, draws inspiration from dubstep and is driven by raw textures crafted using a real vocoder, not for vocals, but as a sound design tool to shape its gritty, futuristic edge. Close to You dives into deep dub techno territory, built around percussive rhythms and an ethereal sampled vocal. Finally, Rotations closes the EP on a high note with a warm, deep house groove, melodic, uplifting, and unmistakably Milio.

With Vocoder Boi EP, Milio embraces experimentation and diversity, delivering a record that feels both personal and adventurous, while remaining grounded in his distinct sonic identity.
