Sunny Side Up

“It was early August, 2021. I found myself pushing more than I usually would. 
Operating as if I were a machine programmed to operate based on my values, habits and experiences. 

It was a mix of feelings I had to process, reassurance, confusion, aspiration, hurt and joy; all at the same time. 

Those mixed feelings inspired me to take a different approach with the sound, overall vibe, and the mixing technique for this set. It is an emotional journey, based on the mixed feelings I had while being up late working the night away. The journey is intended to illustrate my favorite transition of the day. Being the darkest point right before dawn, up until the sun is completely visible above the horizon.
 
As for the mix itself, I formulated my mixing technique & approach; and programmed a machine to perform it as precisely as I could describe it, while I attentively and mindfully listened. 

By the time the final draft of this set was done and the dust started to settle in my life, I found that I have learned more than I had expected from this experience. With a whole new appreciation added for mixing, I adapted new techniques behind the decks and mixing styles.
