Not many people follow a pipeline from wacky food reviewers to DJs, or have played a set in a cloud, or repeatedly invited the *checks notes* Church of Scientology to an afters. These are just some of the former lives lived by @xandivy, the Australian-American duo who started producing and DJing together in 2016 after meeting through a mutual friend in Los Angeles.

While a former iteration of their partnership under the alias Party Shirt saw the duo gain attention to the tune of tens of millions of social media followers for viral shenanigans, since forming X & Ivy, the collaborators have made it clear they want be taken seriously as producers and DJs. Lately, their dream has been coming to fruition.

For their instalment of the mix, the duo share a perfect soundtrack to the closing moments of summer.

“After the incredible London summer we've had, we wanted this mix to capture a feeling. Something nostalgic and euphoric to close out the season properly. It features tracks from some of our favourite artists and friends, plus a few recent releases, unreleased bits, and timeless records that never leave our bag. Andre Zimmer has been a major driving force in the underground house scene in the last 6-8 months. He released a single on his own label, birthing his imprint Big Trouble Records and quickly received support from those leading charge in the underground dance scene. Shortly after release, Black Book Records licensed the track and had it come out as an official record.

Berlin’s dancefloors have long thrived on artists who balance curiosity with craft, and one Dutch-born selector and producer has carved out his place by doing exactly that. Enzio Etchaberri is known for bridging the warmth of rare vinyl with the pulse of cosmic, arpeggiated synths. He approaches DJing as both a dialogue and a journey: warm-up sets, peak-time energy, and closing chapters all find their place in his repertoire.

Based in Berlin after formative years in the Netherlands, he quickly grew into a fixture across Europe’s clubs and festivals, from Sisyphos and Renate to Melt and Garbicz. His productions, released on labels such as Duro, Voll Schön, and Midnight Operators, reflect his patient philosophy: edits, remixes, and originals are tested on the dancefloor before being shared with the world.

At the core of his ethos is the joy of digging and sharing music. Whether digitizing obscure vinyl finds or layering birdsong from Sumatra into electronic landscapes, his sets embody warmth, surprise, and connection. For him, the goal is simple yet profound: to keep people on their toes, making it easier for them to dance, and in doing so, create moments that linger long after the last beat fades.

Underground club music has a penchant for existing beneath the radar. Its parties squat in the sweat-soaked shadows of unsuspecting dive bars and undisclosed (RSVP for address) locations that are constantly threatened by gentrification and crackdowns by the authorities. Visibility is key to bolstering these vibrant communities but many exist beyond mainstream dance music culture, making them difficult to find outside major cities like New York, LA or Chicago. But still, the momentum behind the Southern and Midwestern experimental scenes is steadily growing and you can now find incendiary sounds across America's heartland.

Disparate cities such as Atlanta, Houston, Milwaukee and Ohio may receive less shine, but the crews and labels behind their respective homegrown subcultures are intent on making an impact. They choose to write their own rules. Pay attention.
