'IMPACT' came about after a conversation between Jorkes and Lisa Jäger, one of the curators of the WAF Galerie in Vienna. When lockdown hit and the parties were paused, they were left with nowhere to channel artistic needs and exchange feelings in an open and free space. When things started to open up, clubs were left out of the discussion and in these moments it became clear how important club culture is to the way of life for many, but also the IMPACT it has had on mainstream society.

From political movements to gender identification, sexual liberation to amplifying multiculturalism, club culture is a real driver of change. The pair then moved to set up discussions under titles such as 'clubs as places for freedom and emancipation' at the WAF Galerie that Lisa co-curates. Massimiliano Pagliara, Therese Terror and Cecile Balbous from Queer Base all contributed and two further talks are planned, with each one corresponding to each of the three volumes of IMPACT on @freeridemillenium.

Berlin via Chicago based Ukrainian and leftfield disco operative @aalinkaa is having a huge year with standout music on the likes of Rekids and Needwant. On 'Disappear Into The Night' she layers up twitchy electronics with shimmering vocal samples, psychedelic keys and lo-fi house drums to make for a deeply absorbing cut.

The genre re-defining chameleons of Hard Ton are back on Schrödinger’s Box with their own brand of style splitting acid house disco. Bigger is Better, a double EP album, has all the depravity and drama you would expect from these disruptors. “Be Somebody” is a proud call to a dirty beat; chin up, chest out and let the claps and hi-hats fly. Flanger effect units are pushed to the max in “Trip To Your Mind”, an acid dripping, falsetto bending banger. Rhythms collide and sweat hits the floor in the body jacking “You Want Me” before new age rave mantra of “Transcend Your Body” with its steepling synth stabs and 303 barbs. The close, “Girls and Boys,” is inspired by a Brit Pop hit. Beefed-up, muscled-up, this club ready weapon will bring the house down.

Back with his third EP for Dave Harvey’s forward thinking Futureboogie label, Kiwi serves up three pulsating jams on ‘Charlie’s New Vision’, backed with a remix from Johnny Aux. 

Drawing upon his many influences across the house/disco/funk spectrum, South London based Kiwi has been illuminating the more discerning dancefloors of late with a strong of releases for Cin Cin, Needwant and his own new label venture, Crossbreed. 

A low-slung groove is explored on ‘Charlie’s New Vision’, incorporating tripped out film dialogue, bleeps and dubby tones, and a serpentine bass riff, all forging an off kilter yet infectious & hedonistic chugger. 
Johnny Aux follows up recent appearances on Man Power’s Me Me Me, Party Central, and Multi Culti with his own take on the lead track. Churning over a bleepy and epically transcendental remix of the highest order, this is the stuff of sunrises and enlightening moments! 

The sprightly ‘Ghiaccio’ draws together a kaleidoscopic array of opulent synth melodies with an compelling rhythm, whilst ‘Italian Heat’ doffs its cap heartily to the Italo disco choons of yore that always strikes a potent chord to this day.
