Underground Audio presents Toni Varga's 'Yuka' EP. An expert in crafting DJ tools over the past decade, Toni's first release for the imprint cements his ability as a generator of exceptional records. 

Title track 'Yuka' sees a mesh of flanged hi-hats dashed with flecks of acid synth lines. Emery Warman's Remix puts a shuffle on the original to give the bassline some added groove and motion, whilst System2 douse their version with sub pulses and vocal chops to create a ferocious stomper. 

'Kubu', Toni's second original of the EP, subtly interlocks toms, vocal lines and bass interjections to create a flowing house shuffler to round off the release.

It seems as if 15 years have quickly flown by since we first opened our doors at the base of the famous Oberbaumbrücke joining Berlin’s Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain districts. With countless long nights into majestic mornings and open airs in our beloved city to showcases spanning the globe, Watergate has grown to include a booking agency and a record label pushing the sounds of our mainstay artists and some of the most revered acts in the scene. To celebrate our journey over the last decade and a half we have put together a special anniversary release of 25 new, exclusive and formerly unreleased tracks to be released as a 2x CD set with our traditional Watergate artwork as well as a special collector's edition box set as a 5x vinyl, 2x CD package including a commemorative art print, two free entries to the club itself and the very special photo book ‘Sound Travels’ by Linus Dessecker which features photos and interviews of artists that played at Watergate when they arrived or left Berlin, all wrapped up in a sleek minimalistic package entitled “WATERGATE XV”.

Encompassing music from club residents like Matthias Meyer, Jimi Jules, Marco Resmann, La Fleur, Tiefschwarz, Floyd Lavine, Lee Jones, Adana Twins, Sebo K, Hyenah and Cinthie and new comers Gorje Hewek & Izhevski, Gumz and Ryan Davis to friends and cohorts who have close ties to the club such as Butch, Henrik Schwarz, Ellen Allien, Alex Niggemann, Catz n’ Dogz, Steve Bug, Osunlade, Solomun, Rodriguez Jr., Oliver Koletzki, Anja Schneider, Mathias Kaden and Kollektiv Turmstrasse, WATERGATE XV comprises of a plethora of sounds you have come to anticipate from our home along the Spree. A year after ‘Together / That’s Right’, long-time friends and sonic sparring partners Steve Bug and Cle return to Rejected with two more statements of timeless intent that tap into the classic foundations of true techno story telling.

Long builds, emotional chords, layers and narrative twists are the devils in the detail as the pair present another couple of ageless hypnotic trips: The craftily titled ‘Tweaky Blinders’ takes the lead with its sombre one stroke chords whispering over the robust kicks and salubrious subs while the wily acid flurries between the spaces. Stately, immersive and coded with sentiment; drop it and watch the crowd march in unison.

The equally wryly titled ‘Bark Side Of The Moog’ follows suit. Once again there’s a solemn air to the chords as they sway with pensive poignancy. This time the drum arrangement is much more full frontal and unavoidable. Rolling with a sense of momentum that’s almost mid 90s prog in its energy, shine and behaviour, yet again Steve and Cle have nailed the timeless feel. Hopefully this will become an annual thing and they’ll return to Rejected for another round this time next year….

Canadian artist Art Department aka Jonny White comes storming through with 'The Breeding Ground' EP as his first release on Kerri Chandler’s mighty Kaoz Theory imprint, which includes the high-octane house cut 'Boa'.

Showcasing the esubtle volution of his sound while staying true to his consistent dedication to the dancefloor, Art Department's new material consists of jacking rhythms with a contrast of organic and rugged textures. It's a bold and brilliant four tracker and a welcomed addition to Kaoz Theory's standout catalog of releases. 

'The Breeding Ground' EP is set for release December 10.
