Vin Sol is about to unleash a new EP on Honey Soundsytem, titled Moonchild. According to the label, they have rejected "killer track after killer track" from the San Francisco native. "There is no artist in the history of our label that we have given a harder time to than Vin Sol," they add. "We finally made our peace, and selected the four tracks that encompass the Moonchild EP you have here..."
Vin Sol is a long time friend of the label with previous releases on Rhythm Nation, Nonplus, and Ultramajic. The EP is said to read "like a metaphor for the two sides of the city where it was made." The two openers, "Moonchild" and "Electrical Storms," "reminisce the mystical and spiritual love affair San Francisco has had since the '60s while "Patronize" and Bondage Taped" reference "the sexually adventurous side the city indoctrinates to all its visitors."

The release is paired with a remix from AVA's Jordan, who flips the original into a rolling house gem. There's no question this belter will whip any dancefloor into a cosmic frenzy.

The British duo Wayward have enjoyed a compelling 2018 establishing themselves as respected producers with a trio of celebrated EP’s including their 12” debuts on both Fort Romeau’s Cin Cin Records and Australian based label Beats Of No Nation. The sounds released from these efforts have shown that it's quite hard to place these talented lads in any particular genre; having come out with a variety of music ranging from pure, unadulterated disco to futuristic, afro-tinged techno. If you have not been impressed with their range so far, you'd be hard-pressed not to after listening to their forthcoming record.

To start off the year, the duo have joined forces once again with Rob da Bank's Silver Bear Recordings to come out with four-track EP that features two brand-new originals from Wayward themselves and a couple of remixes from it-boy Earth Trax and Glasgow legend Nightwave. The name of the release is titled “Raval” and we are fortunate enough to be sharing its title track. Staying true to their versatile nature, Wayward have elected to go into a completely different direction on this one.

From beginning to end, Raval is a tune that's rooted in acid-house and instantly grabs your attention with its energetic bassline and bombastic percussion. However, these hard-hitting elements are complemented by a melodic assortment of distorted keys and airy vocals that give listeners an opportunity to catch their breath in between gripping moments of being compelled to dance and let go.

Bot’Ox present “Basement Love”, the first part of their second album “Sans Dormir”. Two years after their previous LP “Babylon by Car”, Cosmo Vitelli and Julien Briffaz decided to unveil this new project through six different moments - call them EPs - like six volumes forming a single story, each one being released every two months. 

The slow title-song “Basement Love” is released as a way of introduction, along three dancefloor remixes that lift this “basement” up in the air.

A1. Basement Love
A spectral voice, some deep bass sounds and resonating drums... This basement could feel oppressive. Instead, it is warm and filled with feelings and loving matters. The vocals are sung by the Foremost Poets aka jOHNNYDANGEROUs who was already featured in Bot’Ox’s “Perfect Pair” EP in 2011. The American DJ and performer is renowned for some underground classics like “Beat that Bitch with a Bat” or “Moonraker”. 

A2. Basement Love (Pachanga Boys Point of View)
Rebolledo and Superpitcher, the two guys from the so-called “hippie dance” act Pachanga Boys, turn the pop song into a 12-minutes-long techno trip. Their faithful use of the original’s parts dramatize the whole as if to bring the song to another level. 

B1. Basement Love (Cosmo Vitelli remix)
Half of Bot’Ox and I’m a Cliché label’s head Cosmo Vitelli gives his personal take on Basement Love. The DJ legitimately aims at rocking the crowd, through characteristic twirling basslines and twisted stacked layers.

B2. Basement Love (Richard Fearless remix)
Richard Fearless, the man behind UK band Death in Vegas makes a paranoid dance track where sirens, storms and inside demons ally. Dark hallucinations come as no surprise from a man whose music has always been psychedelic in various ways.
