A flock of birds took flight across the sky, dipping and weaving in unison until they were out of sight beyond the cliffs. The terrain was bold and colourful; huge towering green trees shot up into the heavens, below a flowing stream of clear blue water meandered through various species of flowers and chattering insects. The sheer expanse of this landscape took his breath away, it was a far cry from the cityscapes he knew so well. It remained untouched by human hands, not tampered with for commercial gain - here nature was in charge. 

Up next on non-profit label Sinchi it's a close member of the collective's family, Hary Shanthi. Marking his second release on the label, following 2021's Sivapuranam (​ச​ி​வ​ப​ு​ர​ா​ண​ம​்​), this new single 'Urumi' is another window into the psyche of a deep thinking, technically skilled producer. The slowly unfurling opus, which is peppered with hypnotic acid lines, synth leads and percussion is a homage to his Indian culture and '"the non-dualistic nature" of Kashmir Shaivism, a philosophical system that emerged in India around the 12th Century'. It comes complete with remixes from MR TC and Tushen Raï and, as always, all money from sales will be donated to the Sinchi Foundation which supports indigenous people across the world.

Following on from epic releases courtesy of label head honchos Ryan Crosson and Shaun Reeves, Berlin based Canadian producer/DJ Deadbeat steps up to the plate for Visionquest’s next release with a dance floor damaging percussive beast to lead The Jack EP. Paying homage to the legendary Berlin club Berghain Drum Jack is tribal tech in its naughtiest form and the 2008 original is resurrected for this 2015 edit. Kicking off in a raucous and unrelenting fashion, the track gets more and more out-there as it progresses, moving into a deep dark relentless club monster. Press play on this i-D exclusive.

Based in St. Petersburg, Nocow is undoubtedly one of Russian electronic music’s most remarkable protagonists having released on Clone, Figure, Fauxpas Musik, Gost Zvuk and Styrax. Recognised for maintaining consistency whilst traversing various sub-genres, Nocow is as comfortable producing intricate IDM and robust techno as he is calm ambient and melancholic electronica.

In ‘Soul Connection’ a spoken word vocal mutters over metallic percussion and ominous stabs whilst a dense pad washes over everything. An undulating synth and ethereal effects make up ‘Disappear’ before moving onto syncopated drums and shadowy atmospherics in ‘Samaya Dolgaya Noch’. Next up, ‘Stop’ is comprised of mesmerising melodies, sturdy kicks and a looped vox until Nocow concludes the package with a short 2-step cut titled ‘Aesthetic Mind’.

In the distance there were trees, they lined the fields, acting like some soft of makeshift barrier between the grassy plains and the road which roared with traffic alongside. The drivers would pass by this place, sometimes they'd glance over but they were alway looking not seeing. That was the problem these days, people didn't pay attention or care. What lay beyond that dense wall of green was a wild world in which your imagination might run free. The great expanse of the natural world offered what the concrete could not. Did they care? The cars simply zipped on by. 

Chaotic Reality is a producer we've been keeping a close eye on, self releasing his own music he now has a few EP's under his belt. However, his latest perhaps shows a maturity and depth greater than that of his previous. This is beautiful, dubbed out, intelligent house music.

Phil and Paul Hartnoll are the brothers hailing from Kent best known as Orbital, undoubtedly one of the UK’s most pioneering electronic acts of all time. Named after the London Orbital Motorway which circled the M25 illegal raves, the Hartnoll’s have come from the epicentre of the acid house scene and given a face to electronic music in the form of their diverse and innovative productions
alongside an energetic and pioneering live show.

The brothers have delivered a rare remix of Voorn’s ‘Never’ which was released on his \\\\ [four] album late last year, and inspired by the mid 90s sound reminiscent of classic Orbital electronic anthems.
