@ohm-599575574 has an impressive catalog of releases already and is well-known within the dub techno scene. One thing has united his previous releases and that‘s the fact they have been done in collaboration with others – such as with Exos, Octal Industries and Kvadrant. Now @xozmusic offers the debut solo release by OHM – and what a beauty it is!

The flipside starts with 'Shiva', a fast percussion-based techno banger.

AOP007 sees the return of Ukraine’s Artist Volodymiyr Gnatenko. On two of the tracks he collaborates with his friend Kai Noob , leaning on the more experimental side of things. The other two tracks, which are Vladimir’s solo work, are for the floor. Also returning to AOP is Warpque delivering another stunning cover for us.

'2023' is the rather unexpected new project of the Dutch cult hero Wladimir Manshanden. 32 years ago, in 1991, Wladimir M founded together with techno icon Stefan Robbers, one of the first Dutch techno labels: Eevo Lute Muzique.

While Robbers (as Terrace and Acid Junkies) pursued an international techno career in the years that followed, Manshanden preferred to remain in the shadows. His discography is as small as it is peculiar. But his track 'Evil' is an undisputed classic, back in the days, picked up and licensed by the likes of Carl Craig, Dimitri, while the re-issue a few years ago was picked up again by Nina Kraviz and others.

For that reason alone, '2023' is special. But it gets even better. And weirder. On his collaborative, music is produced by either Stefan Robbers or Bjorn Telkamp, new project, he disassembles the eighties pop hits of his youth into sober, futuristic spoken-word techno.

On the one hand, he does not shy away from some cringe (Dire Straits, Simple Minds, Tina Turner). On the other, he pays tribute to some genuine electronic heroes like Kraftwerk, New Order and (low and behold) Master C&J.

The path to the bare essentials leads through a futuristic labyrinth. Along the way, you get hints of monotone voices, cipher codes and wondrous Dutch titles like 'Privé Onderzoek.' The outcome is alienating and magical at the same time.

Wladimir M - 2023 LP (dsr-eevo009)

Dancing might be the only way to express the latent energy that music evokes, so we often found ourselves in the boiling rooms of De School meeting with @Magitee in front of a spectacle of sounds. Admiring together what we heard, our sonic connection became undeniable.

Originally from central Italy, he's lived in Austria, US, Denmark, Spain, UK, and now in the Netherlands, embedding influences of each locale into his music repertoire. Here and there, he collects waxed treasures including records from the 80s and 90s, Italian progressive, Balearic, and even a bunch of precious Scandinavian crafts.

As a result of his tireless crate exploration, he is often invited to showcase his delights on @radiotemponaopara, Echobox Radio, Radio Raheem, Dublab, Lusophonica, and other stations around Europe. He’s held residencies at @operator-radio, Stranded FM, and @radiooedipus. On the 9th of March you can catch him at Multipla closing the arena b2b with his friend @chris_gorrie

And for now, you can dive into his marvelous contribution to the Aquatic Gardens series, evolving from atmospheric excursions to more rythmic and groovy transmissions. Enjoy.
