A month late is better than never!

Welcome to another assortment of electronic music delights, my music loving friends. Each of these tracks left a special impression on me when I discovered them in August and I'm excited to share them with you. This month's playlist is not organized in any way, so expect a mix of techno, house, jungle, and other genres.

Sankt Göran - Late Nite Interlude

Following on from their Fabric presents mix compilation in April, Chaos In The CBD return with the lead single ’Sirena Deep’ from a forthcoming EP on their much loved In Dust We Trust imprint. 

This classy Deep House track is one for the early hours of the night, with a warm and deep rolling bass line and beautifully layered keys. Washed over with a stunning flute accompaniment from long-term collaborator and legendary jazz musician Nathan Haines which adds the extra magic to this outstanding production.

The Alishan Forest Railway is a 86 km network of narrow-gauge railways running through the forests of Alishan Mountain in Chiayi County, Taiwan. During the Spring months, the iconic red train passes through an endless array of cherry blossoms and small, untouched villages. This peaceful scene is set in contrast to the stories told by locals, of wandering spirits seen deep in the forest. The spirits are believed to be the lost souls of the 32 passengers, who perished in the tragic derailment of the train in 1981.

Burn a candle in remembrance when you play this record at the club.

Reworking a big tune is never a simple task, especially if after 7 years the tune in question is still one of the highlights in
shows of one of the worlds most beloved live act performers, KiNK.
That’s only half of the story though, as the tune got a lot of love from so many DJ’s all over the globe.
However, for the 17th burek release, we wanted to do something really special and what could be better than giving new
life to a piece of music which literally gave life to our label. And we gathered some very interesting people for the job.
A1 KiNK - Leko (Kink’s Bass Shake Version) is a rework by none other thank KiNK himself. The original is a party
monster as it is, so Strahil opted for an alternative approach that sheds an interesting light on a familiar song. Huge
resonating bassline

A2. In 2013 KiNK had an successful E.P. with Rachel Row called Follow The Step which had a major impact on both of
their careers. Later while touring with Rachel she had an idea to put some vocals on top of the first Leko track, which
now turned into a completely different, slow track with the familiar piano melody.

B1 KiNK - Leko (Session Victim Remix) is a wonderfully subdued take on the original. It keeps all the main elements we
all know and love, and enriches them with a more percussive feel, well placed guitar licks and an overall easier mood. All
that said, don’t make a mistake with thinking this is something for the living room as this one’s made for those special
daytime/sunset/sunrise moments when a tune like this turns the situation into something everyone will take home with
them.
B2 KiNK - Leko (Original Version) is the tune, in all it’s glory and attitude. Full-fledged peak time house track which turns
every party into a steaming pit of bodies asking for more. Too hot to ignore.

Deep Dark Blue presents an album filled with gentle surprises. When We Get Together takes you through lightly psychedelic melodies for the heart and mind to get lost in. Though highly polished as a production, a sense of underlying spontaneity implies a process that’s closer to an improvised jam session than a planned composition. The lush synths, complex percussion, and shimmering melodies create rich backdrops for reveries. Each song bobs and weaves through opposite contrasts, often going back and forth between melancholic to bright. Yet each song remains cohesive and leaves you wondering how you arrived at the end of each track.

Zenbi, co-founder of the much-celebrated Brooklyn label and afterhours SOUP NYC, has cooked up a dense and tribal 12" with a heat and roll that's perfectly suited for the summer months, titled 'Chaga'.

Ahead of its release on August 9, Zenbi has handed over Huxley's beefed-up remix of his new single. The track's alluring stabs and weighted drums give way to a subtly powerful drop that takes the track's fantastic, harmonica-esque hook and breathes new life into it.

Berlin-based Peer Du has crafted a dreamy, luxurious sound in recent years, which is no wonder why the Haŵs crew have summoned him to unite with their ever-budding family tree. The Welsh label and party-starters have been quietly watering their roots throughout the previous months, and with its latest re-potting for its fourth EP comes a provocative collection of tracks that slink outwards from the ether like a polychrome, sonic mosaic.

'For Those' conjures up the image of an ocean of twirling bodies moving as one upon a packed out dance-floor during the golden era of house music; Peer Du weaves a coquettish sample vocal from Shanice into the toggles of a rippling bassline, with the final result an instant classic for any deep house fanatic. 

The fourth release on Haŵs, simply put, is like watching an expert tailor nimbly thread the eye of a needle with a gossamer fibre before effortlessly combining together textures, colours and adornments without once making a wrong movement.
