Kim Ann Foxman takes us direct to the heart of a sweaty warehouse rave with these two red hot new singles. 'Connection' is all bright stabs, sci-fi effects and coruscated old school house jack that is impossible to ignore. Luca Lozano smooths it out slightly and races ahead with a big baseline that gets you making elastic moves. Foxmann's 'Magic Magic' then keeps up the rave house vibe but with a tinge of trancey-euphoria in the big, bright synths. Matisa's remix is all about smoother house pleasures. This is functional music with a big heart.

The table was lined with all manner of sweet treats and delicious desserts; it was a banquet fit for a king and queen. Just looking at the infinite options available was enough to make you feel full; cream cakes were perched alongside iced biscuits, macaroons and mountains of jelly, stretching as far as the eye could see. This was something as a child they could only dream of - could death by sugar be a thing?

For their first release of 2022, and their sixth to date, Taiwan's JIN 禁 Records call on the talents of South Korean artist Yetsuby, who makes up one half of ambient duo Salamanda. Her ability to create soundscapes driven by mood and emotion is still present on this EP, but this time she explores the realms of bass, DnB and IDM across four fresh cuts. On the flip, master of the remix New Zealand's Eden Burns puts his signature progressive trance spin on 'Jelly', twisting it into a psychedelic slow burner to keep those energy levels up.

Demi Riquísimo follows his superb ‘Better Days’ VA with a hefty six-track remix EP on his everevolving Semi Delicious record label. Not surprisingly, Demi garners reworks from some of the hottest names in the underground circuit at the minute, each reinventing his truly original dancefloor sounds with their own unique tinge.
Kassian come screaming in with a super-chuggin’ up-tempo revamp on ’54 Reasons’. Nip-tucktight 4x4 house groove with a wonky, explorative synth bassline that marries the soft, undulating synth pads and sensual vocal snippets harmoniously. T. Jacques offers up his atypical rolling acidhouse. Blending trance-like tones with buckets of organic drum machines and M1 Organ stabs that
just never get old. The cheeky chaps Jive Talk present a remix unlike any other, fusing boogie-funk and Greg Wilson style electro with naked bassline squelches and gurn-worthy pads primed for the chill-out room. Black Loops takes his signature sound to ‘Certified’, while swapping out his usual deep-house sound for some raw UK 2-step beats. ‘Machine Tagine’ gets a racing-rework from Manuel Darquart, primed with 606 hi-hats and endlessly modulating FM basslines for this extremely hard-hitting remix. Finally, Holding Hands regular Baby Rollén whips up some 90’s breakbeat across ‘Spice Rack’, allowing Demi’s immaculate hook-writing to shine through in his mix.
