After his successful teaming up with Pyramid for their Kitsuné EP and his beautiful collaboration with Darius on 'Alicia', Crayon is releasing his very own debut EP on Yuksek new label, Partyfine.  Crayon tried reuniting most of his influences within 3 original tracks.

"You'll find yourself drifting away in space wearing Joey Buttafuoco pants, you are confused because you think your time machine brought you back to some high class garden party in Miami but somehow you're breakdancing in Compton."

Space funk, R&B, and obviously a touch of modernity, embracing the only two decades Crayon   have lived through to make a record for the nostalgic just as much as it is for the ones seeking the "sound of tomorrow".

One half of defunct Aussie duo Riot In Belgium - now producing under the Nile Delta pseudonym - pops up with a rather tasty release on Cut Copy's Cutters imprint. The sun-drenched house-isms of "Channel" roll elegantly into "All This", which sees some remix action on the flip. The Chicken Lips malfunction is an acid tinged chugger, while Australian producer Tornado Wallace chimes in with a boompty mid tempo house workout.

Berlin producer @Superlover returns to @mother-recordings with his upcoming "Kiss" EP (which will be released on January 30th), we at Discobelle can premiere the track "Heart Drive" which samples the Goody Goody classic track "It Looks Like Love.

The track itself is propelled forward by a pulsating bass and crisp sounding strings making this into a warm sounding surefire club bomb.

RED RACK’EM ‘WONKY BASSLINE DISCO BANGER’ (6.08)

"I met DJ / producer Danny Berman (aka Red Rack’em) in Nottingham in 2005. He was putting together edits at the time, but had aspirations of releasing his own original material, which he fulfilled in 2008 with his Hot Coins project, resulting in an album deal with Tirk. His Hot Coins remix of the evangelical ‘Stand On The Word’ by The Joubert Singers in 2009 was absolutely huge for me, as well as being championed by Gilles Peterson.
 
In 2010 he’d put out his first Red Rack’em album, ‘The Early Years’ on his own Bergerac label, with an assortment of 12” releases following during the next half-decade. Then, in 2016, he issued ‘Wonky Bassline Disco Banger’, with the track’s quirkiness, topped-off with the introduction of its distinctive off-kilter bass, really capturing the imagination – it would be aptly described as ‘charmingly bonkers’.
 
Picked up by Classic, the label first set up by DJs Derrick Carter and Luke Solomon back in the ‘90s, and nowadays under the Defected umbrella, ‘Wonky Bassline Disco Banger’ has continued to wreak its aural havoc on dancefloors around the globe.
 
The source for my edit was the Luke Solomon & Terry Grant Live Disco Revision, a slightly less crazed version that was issued digitally in 2017 as part of the various artists ‘Love Is The Message’ EP pack, courtesy of Glitterbox, Defected’s Ibiza Disco extravaganza. My edit stemmed from wanting to repeat the bass section, which just appeared the once in this version, slightly shuffling things up in the process."

French electronic music producer and DJ, Yuksek, launches his label Partyfine with a debut EP on May 13th.

Independency is a key word for Partyfine - the will to participate in every production level of an artist from recording and mixing, to mastering and distribution, to the location of the label, Yuksek's studio in Reims (France). Far from any style diktat, one of Partyfine's aims is to present Yuksek's diverse musical tastes including disco, electro, indie and club.

Beyond all, Partyfine was born to gather a family of talented musicians who could collaborate together around a defined concept using their own backgrounds and desires, releasing great music and throwing down some serious parties.

Yuksek explains: "The label is a natural extension of my past years where I have produced for other artists. I met many of Partyfine's collaborators this way (JD Samson, The Magician, Oh Land, Juveniles etc) and just felt like extending the experience, writing music with them, not just for them".

The first release of the label is the result of an encounter in New York with pop Danish singer and producer Oh Land, and an extension of the collaboration with French electro-pop band Juveniles, whose debut album Yuksek is producing.

The EP will also feature remixes from Michael Garcon (AS Dragon), Sam Tiba (Club Cheval) and DJ-producer Kasper Bjørke.

The EP was produced and recorded in summer 2020 in a studio in Europe, and now brought back to the jungle of Mexico to be dropped with the Tulum based label from Grupo Gitano.
