Hailing from Michigan, USA, vinyl and techno label (MS) is the creation of Myles Sergé that usually focuses on his own original cuts, but has also featured quality remixes from Lee Holman and Rennie Foster.
'The Replacements' is a new VA release with four tracks by four different artists from Argentina, France, and America.

Gonzalo MD is from Buenos Aires and has well over 10 years of releases that includes Philippe Petit's Knotweed and Decision Making Theory (DMT), Marco Lenzi's Molecular, Bruno Ledesma's Concepto Hipnotico and Retórica Records.

Philippe Petit calls Chamonix home, and the French maestro heads up Knotweed Records and Decision Making Theory (DMT) and has also appeared on Ben Sims' Symbolism, Len Faki's Figure, Slam's Soma, Radio Slave's RSPX amongst others.

(MS) label boss Myles Sergé arrives on the third track in style following appearances on labels like Zenker Brothers' Ilian Tape, Dan Curtin's Metamorphic, Dense & Pika's Kneaded Pains, and Esther Duijn's Another Earth, to name only a few.

Mike Derer is another exciting and experienced addition to the release's roster, with over 20 years of industry knowhow from running an artist agency, hosting events and of course beat-making, his music can be found on his own Northern Parallels imprint and also remixing for the likes of A.Paul's Naked Lunch.

Expect to hear a selection of raw, analogue techno with spacey textures, deep Detroit-style soul, jackin' percussion and hypnotic traits...

A couple of months ago we had the pleasure to host non-other than Mordio at one of our events, we captured this indcredible moment of sound and energy, filled with deep layered storytelling and impressive mixing techniques. During this mix, the Berlin based producer displayed a clear sonic vision on contemporary clubbing.

This mix for Yax Invites aims to sketch a dark and brooding hypnotic landscape, with repetitive vocal samples as rays of hope through the darkness. In his original tracks he confronts rhythms to give rise to surprising patterning, letting industrial sounds crackle and grind, and making space for bubbling organic sounds in techno.

Handing over the controls to well-known figure of the German and Georgian electronic scenes in the persons of .VRIL and HVL, our next installment finds the pair laying down a quintet of hybrid electro and techno weapons that sends us straight back to the heyday of Rephlex and like-minded visionary ventures. All in that stark contrast between ethereal spaciousness and steely, martial rhythms out the industrial spectrum, ‘Far Field’ takes us on a voyage across the board, from breaks-heavy machine stunts to washed-out tapestries, via EBM-laced detours and junglistic maneuvers. Investigating the nexus zone between dance functionality and limitless escapology, it extrapolates both artists’ blends to further immersive, hypnotic effect. 

Taking over the A side, .VRIL gets the ball rolling with ‘Lost Together’, which sets the tone on a low-slung, nostalgia-drenched note; combining the syncopated swagger of downtempo techno with ambient-oid stasis and static-filled opacity. Like watching an all-metal sun sinking past the blazing skyline. Revving up the engines, ‘Fnord’ feat. RÆYN conjures up a way more muscular arsenal of big-room-ready wares, from aggro snare salvos to anthemic synth kinetics, through that replicant-hunting kinda vibe. One to have the Saturn rings go hula hoop, with all woofers and brains in the vicinity melting in XTC. Shutting the A side off, ‘We Believe’ returns to a lighter, more vaporous mindset but sure implements that signature heavy swing of .VRIL, flush with textured kicks and FX-soaked arps. True monster prog swell. 

Flip it over and there’s HVL dishing out a textbook example of his vortical electronic furls with the title-track, ‘Far Field’ - an oneiric drift that slowly rises from its heavy-lidded slumber, ascending towards bleepin’ n bloopin’ experimental effervescence as bars fly by. A number bound to hack your body and mind into two distinct facets, and while one dances its way frantically across the ever buzzing space/time continuum, the other shall reach a state of healing calm and transcending ubiquity. Smoothly shuttling us off to the upper layers of the ionosphere, ‘Lancet Mxi’ clenches it on a trippy note, taxiing us midway zero-G UK bass territories and eerie ambient abstraction. HVL’s total, widescreen vision at its most unhindered, all set at expanding your mind to yet uncharted horizons of sound and closing the gap between two distant, estranged galaxies. A fractured headspace to both dance and dream to.

With „Recession Fever,“ FTP Doctor presents an EP that captures the soundtrack of our troubled times. Four unique tracks reflect the challenges and tensions of a society marked by recession and uncertainty.

The EP kicks off with „Glitter Jitter,“ a track that wraps the chaos of modern life within its modulating textured beats. „Discomfort Dance“ continues this journey, guiding the listener through a raw soundscape that is both unsettling and irresis- tibly danceable. „Spiker Biker“ intensifies the ride with a whirling percussive synth pattern on top of a pulsating beat that mirrors the pressure and unpredictability of current times. The EP is rounded off with „Countryside Bounce,“ a track that turns all the stress into a humorous bouncy trip with its experimental clinking textures.
Next to the originals, Dycide‘s remix of „Discomfort Dance“ adds a touch of driving Grey Area energy to the record while Tenzia‘s remix of „Spiker Biker“ turned out as a massive intense stomping machine.

„Recession Fever“ is an acoustic reflection of our era that retains energy and a drive for movement with its raw sound design and unique grooves. A modern turn on dance music with all sorts of twists.

'Psychometrics Hidden Layers' is the fourth release from the Berlin- and Lisbon-based event series Art Bei Ton. This 7-track VA focuses on bringing diverse trippy forms of hypnotic sounds, from Ambient to Deep Techno.

Opening the VA, the talented Portuguese artist @maria-callapez invites the listener to experience her atmospheric Ambient universe. The Tokyo-based DJ and producer @ryogoyamamoritracks presents an immersive hypnotic techno track, transporting us back to some nostalgic moments.

Through her track ‘Dark Blue,’ @yuka welcomes the listener on a rhythmic and mesmerizing sonic journey. @hypnotic-black-magic releases her first track, showcasing her vision of a powerful hypnotic vibe, blending driving and trippy elements. The great German producer and DJ @mordiomusic offers us a piece, mixing adynamic drums and ethereal mood.

Wrapping up this release, the Indian artist @anejath embraces a more trancy and acidic sounds with his track 'Atlas Interface,' while the Lisbon-based producer @veigamusic creates a powerful dancefloor tune — a clean merge between deep and groovy techno.
