metic. is a light and space artist based in Sheffield, UK, who is emulating nature's beauty, integrity and healing qualities through the medium of art and music.

He has an affinity with the ethereal qualities of our world which he communicates through his work and he intends to highlight an appreciation for the experience of “beauty”, which he believes is a powerful and euphoric, emotional state that can be created and recognised. The contexts that his work creates can allow people to enter ambiguous and contemplative states of mind that create space for observation, can nurture wellbeing and provide a long-lasting and inspiring impression.

These interests and intentions innately draw him to intergalactic, nature-based and texturally driven sounds which this faultlines mix highlights his appreciation for in a fast paced and dynamic manner.

Setting off from Earth, this complex and hypnotic mix gradually takes the audience into outer space, where the ethereal plane materialises:

A colourful, mist-filled dimension energised by organic textures, meticulous sound design and deep and reflective soundscapes.

The atmosphere has overheated to more than 1,800° Fahrenheit. The shell is still thinning and the ocean is expanding. From Earth, it looks like a world of dark gas, evidence of the existence of remote and subterranean depths with planetary powers.
Its vertices orbit a yellow dwarf, similar to the Sun. It's seven hundred light-years distant and located in the constellation of the Dragon.
It’s a wandering cosmic predator: Tres now travels at the speed of sound and is faster than light; such a high temperature obeys no rules.
Its particles move wildly, the dark atmosphere becomes blinding.

Elin Piel, an architect of electronic sound and modular virtuous conjures hypnotic landscapes through the art of improvisation. The highly personal album ’Vaka’ opens up to realms where rhythmic echoes entwine with dreamlike passages, guiding through intricate patterns and shimmering vistas. 

At times, her compositions linger in radiant sonics, basking in ethereal light, only to ascend and drift into shadowed skies, where dark, pulsating clouds of unease await. Each moment is a delicate dance between serenity and tension, where the boundaries of sound and emotion dissolve.

“Throughout "At Every Corner," Mara weaves a rich tapestry of sound, creating captivating collages from the audio snippets of her travels and performances along the way. The result is a mesmerising long-play that invites the listener to listen in on the ever wandering journey.

On “Friend Reflection” Mara shares a reworking of a 2022 performance in Karlsruhe, in Southwestern Germany with friends Nina and Rá∂hildur, who performed their poetry in French and Icelandic. The track also staples a viola from a separate performance in Sydney - collectively the piece explores the geographical linking and unlinking of these experiences and memories through their audio interweaving seamlessly.”

The album opens with its title track “At Every Corner”. Crafted from recordings taken primarily in Seoul, this track extends to various parts of South Korea. It features voices of new friends, loudspeaker announcements, insects, and fragments of Mara’s performances across the territory to capture and convey both the overstimulation and awe in the world surrounding her.
