We had to begin the September Third Ear podcast with TREAD’s Opacity Omen because our PR company head recently compared it to Carl Craig’s best work. No feint praise. The rest of the podcast heavily features this month’s release by newcomer Filippo Blasi Foglietti. Patrik Skoog’s Saturnian Acid is also featured. This is one of the tracks on his Exit Earth lp,  released in October. Be prepared for one for one of the year’s best Techno albums in our opinion. Classics from Kelli Hand and Brendon Moeller sit beside Ricardo Jefferson’s A Brutal Truth overlooked by most, except Ricardo Villalobos who was into the track in a big way. Lorca Music’s deep and dark remix of Pirahnahead’s Self Conscience also features in what is overall a deep and dark selection. Two Wbeeza joints showing his class and his diversity wrap up the podcast.

MIXOLOGY
Mixology is Cambridgeshire's New House Movement put together by a collection of DJs influenced and inspired by an eclectic range of musical genres such as Disco, House, UK Garage, Hip Hop, RnB, Motown, Northern Soul, Indie and The New Romantics! The event takes place at RED | ROOM (Peterborough, UK) on the last Friday of every month.


HUXLEY
Over the past year, Mixology have been hosting the best parties in Peterborough with the likes of Miguel Campbell, Andy Baxter, Crazy P, Maxxi Soundsystem, Kreature and James Silk all captivating the energetic Red | Room crowd. Now, the Earth has made one full orbit around the Sun and we’re celebrating our 1st BIRTHDAY in galactic proportions as we welcome the incredible Huxley on Friday March 29th!

Huxley has delivered releases for an enviable roster of labels (Tsuba, Morris Audio, Fear of Flying, Hypercolour and 20:20 Vision for starters) and has stayed true to his robust, bass-led strain of house music that reflects his formative interests in UK and US Garage, with critics, punters and peers lapping up each release and remix.

His glorious vocal stormer ‘Let It Go’ on Hypercolour was lauded by the entire dance community and voted No. 9 in the Resident Advisor top 100 charted tracks for 2012. He has also broken into the prestigious Resident Advisor top 100 this year. We hope you can join us to help blow out the birthday candles on what promises to be the best Mixology thus far.

RED | ROOM
The RED | ROOM in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire was once an old stage room to the prestigious Embassy building where artists such as the Beatles and Rolling Stones once played. Still maintaining its heritage, the RED | ROOM is now a new music based establishment aimed at showcasing artists and DJ’s from around the globe. The exciting 400 capacity venue features a powerful Martin Audio Sound System and a cleverly positioned LED DJ booth which turns the whole venue into one intimate dance floor!

For the past decade, we at Mixology have built an electronic music promotion which is one of the most revered in the East of England, attracting world class DJs to headline every month in Peterborough.

Previous headline artists include the Brit Awards nominated duo Bicep, Patrick Topping, Matthias Tanzmann, Tensnake, Franky Wah, as well as BBC Radio One DJs B.Traits and Danny Howard.

During the past 10 years we have curated in excess of one hundred events that have been regularly featured in local and national press (The Guardian, Mixmag, BBC Radio Cambridgeshire & BBC Radio One) including the spectacular 1,200 attended Mixology Warehouse event at Peterborough Arena, which is still reminisced by Peterboroughians as one of the best events hosted in the city.
