Mixtape Monday: Sober Before Dawn by Luna Ludmila

Jannis Jansen is a New York house DJ and producer, better known under his moniker Aurelius. He’s a product of the late 80’s and was born and raised in Amsterdam. In 2006 Aurelius first developed his interest in electronic music, after hearing Remember by Franck Roger and Jovonn played out in a club. After playing in some local clubs things started to get serious. He became resident DJ at the well known Amsterdam night club Studio 80 and is currently preparing his first release, which won't take very long now.

Mixtape Monday: Back To Vandam Street by Aurelius

Julius mostly spins at small parties and local festivals at the moment. Driven by his passion for vinyl and a nose for the perfect vibe in his genre one could call him a passionate music man. He prefers to play “the (longer) opening set to get the crowd in the right mood and to the next level”.

For this mix he brings us his latest favourite tracks, blended together in a flawless tape. Even though it’s an old school 2006 minimal sound it feels 100% fresh. Julius' sound can best be described as minimal, dark, dubby and industrial techno. Quite unique for 2015. He keeps a clear, harmonious line throughout the set and brings you back to the time when Richie released his first Closer to the Edit compilation. On top of that, knowing that it’s nearly a vinyl-only set, we believe that this crate-digger is ready to move from opener to later slots.

Mixtape Monday: From a deep place by Julius

CURSED P is not your average 4x4 DJ. His extended knowledge of genres in electronic music and finesse in setting a musical vibe through a sublime choice of records, made us certain that it won't take long before his career sets off international. Having played at Tomorrowland and Trouw, hosting his own bi-weekly show at Red Light Radio, running his own label Little Globe Records and hosting his own nights in different cities as well, he's a welcome and familiar face in the Dutch scene.

The mix he made for us showcases his perfect sense of harmony and ambiance for a dance floor. It builds up slowly but steady.He teases you with classics that are mixed seamlessly towards the end where he puts you up with a couple of groovy and acid surprises.
