No strangers to Viper, DC Breaks first released with the prestigious imprint in 2010 with their now famous “Halo” EP, which also got the VIP treatment on the label in 2019. Teaming up with Prolix, who is also no stranger to Viper with releases like “Doppelganger” with Temper D and “Ringtone Raver” on the massive Headrush compilation, the two are returning in a big way.  
With a few previous collaborations under their belt already (“Beat Down”, “Embargo”, “Infinity”) there’s no denying these two acts have a natural chemistry. “Purge” is as massive as you would expect – a dramatic introduction sets the scene, taking the listener to a dystopian wasteland as the energy slowly builds.  
Masterfully building in anticipation and adrenaline, the track explodes into a frenzied drop that is sure to send ravers wild. This tech-y dancefloor banger is a masterclass in production & set to be a hit amongst the heads, Viper are proud to present “Purge” from DC Breaks and Prolix.

A gritty, guttural roller that pulsates with a low-end life of its own, Hypoxia have created this season’s essential late night heads-down jam that will resonate with all sub-genres and sections of the ever-evolving D&B universe. 
Get to know Hypoxia: You might not recognise the name – they’ve only had one track out so far, the incredible Space Time on Drum & Bass Arena (www.beatport.com/release/drum-and…ion-2013/1199512 - www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8FdQ23pFVc) – but we guarantee you’ll be hearing a lot more of them in the future. 
Hailing from Belgium, the duo comprises Max and Will. Max is also known as Athys (of Athys and Duster) while Will is known as Synthopia. Madly the pair only got together in the studio for fun, but quickly realised they had something special as they tapped into unique recording techniques such as placing objects on a rumbling sub, recording the rattling sound and layering it into their basses!
Creative, daring and capable of battering any floor with their productions: Hypoxia are already a household name in Belgium. With tracks like ‘Badass’ & ‘Discoshit’, they’re about to become household names globally, too…

As night fell upon the city, the oppressive slate grey clouds that had hovered above the skyline for days took on an echo of its luminosity, their undersides turning a distinctive pinkish color that illuminated the otherwise moonless night with an otherwordly glow. As the neon lights that guided the citizens who did business beneath the night shone on, high atop a fog-veiled corporate tower the final page of a pillaged tome turned in the hands of an avaricious businessman, who uttered the ancient words that lay upon the page even as it crumbled at his touch. “Kiramiji…Akasham… Anayantu…” he muttered, entranced as his final words slipped from his mouth as the book’s ancient prophecy became as foretold. Instantly exsanguinated, his oxidized blood rushed through the tower’s crowning skylights in a torrent and upwards into the sky as their vital energies set the winds of a divine storm in motion.

Emerging then from the swirling vortex of crimson-tinged cumulonimbus clouds came a guttural and otherworldly utterance that struck like a sledgehammer against the glass panes of the city’s construction before being followed by the scarlet tentacles of a forgotten horror long since sealed. Though gargantuan in size, their suction-cupped tendrils seemed almost sensitive to the minute movements of the humans that struggled within their grasp, almost playful as the thousand teeth of each cupped limb sucked the blood from their bodies and discarded their desiccated corpses upon the streets below. Such an ancient evil was this that it exuded a malign and rapacious consciousness in its unending hunger, as for aeons none had seen such horrors as the RED SKY unleashed.

The remnants of the great battle lay strewn as shreds across the meadow, the multi-faceted carcass of a climatic moment of a conflict long forgotten. The remains of those who had fought for their respective worthless causes now overshadowed by the bleak visage of fate. Legends spoke of the battle as the only one known to have occured with no victor. Each warrior slain on one side was said to be repaid by the death of his equal on the other, as though the melee was arbitrated by some unnatural force. At the battle’s termination there remained none but the two great leaders of the factions, who continued their personal onslaught through the strength of their intense hatred alone. Amongst the corpses of their compatriots they dueled, equally matched in both skill and fury and finally, equally they fell, each slipping his opponent’s guard in the same instant, as both felt their sword plunge through the other’s heart. The place was twice cursed it was told, once by the unnatural force that had presided over the slaughter, and once by the slaughter itself. Unlike most of their kind, these legends held truth, for this field was the lair of the malevolent AGRESSOR.

The being had lurked there from time immemorial, its existence a relic of a long forgotten age. Condemned to this waste for its timeless aggression, it had lingered on beyond the disappearance of its kind. Its hunger for anguish lured countless warriors to its meadow, their conflict a delectable feast for the spirit unseen. From each fallen fighter was riven its emotion, strengthening the being as it continued to feed. The magnitude of the battle had sated it for some time, and it would slumber again through multiple ages of man until that hunger arose once again… and when it did, the DEATH MEADOW would lure souls afresh.
