MJ Nebreda grew up in Caracas, London, Santo Domingo, and many places in between. Latin dance music was one way MJ maintained a sense of self wherever she went. She began making music during lockdown in Miami, an uncanny mash of classic Latin dance rhythms, house music, hip-hop, experimental indie, and UK garage. "Perreo Contra la Depresion" is her debut record on LA's Godmode (Channel Tres, Yaeji, JPEGMAFIA), a sardonic take on Latin booty music that pits the sacred against the profane.
