Conceptualized in 2013, Colombian artists Alejo Cortes and Carlos Lopez aka NuFects decided to undertake a project full of energy, joy, colour and intrigue. They started producing progressive and organic house under the name NuFects, quickly earning recognition from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Cid Inc, along with very important local talents Dabeat, Gux Jimenez and Kamilo Sanclemente. Also finding a place in the more melodic uptempo realms of the genre, legends Paul Oakenfold and Solarstone became NuFects supporters, playlisting their music and making the duo a legit crossover act. 2023 has proved to be a prolific year for NuFects, releasing standout projects via Clubsonica, Movement Recordings, Suza Records and WARPP. The duo also took to re-imagining Sasha's classic production 'Belfunk' earlier this year, an unofficial and in demand remix which has featured in their sets of late, and is now available as a free download. Matthew J. became interested in electronic music at the early age of 11 when he was introduced to dance remixes of popular artists of the early 90's such as Michael & Janet Jackson, Gloria Estefan, and Madonna. This led to the discovering of artists abroad; Massive Attack, Sasha, Underworld, BT, William Orbit and other artists under the radar of the radio airwaves.

As Matthew had also been inspired by the melodic sounds of the 1990's progressive house, downtempo/ambient, and world music he strives to weave sounds of numerous genres to present a modern day fusion of popular and underground dance music. He has played numerous clubs and events throughout the American west coast opening for the likes of John Digweed, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Henry Saiz, Sandra Collins and many other well known artists in the electronic music community.
