The Annual Downbeat Blindfold Test with bassist and composer John Clayton, moderated by Dan Ouellette. 

This event took place in the Pacific Jazz Cafe at the 61st Annual Monterey Jazz Festival, September 23, 2018.

The DownBeat Blindfold Test is a listening test that challenges the featured artist to identify and discuss the music and musicians who perform on selected recordings. The artist is then asked to rate each tune using a 5-star system. No information is given to the artist prior to the test. A transcript will be published in the January 2019 issue of Downbeat!
