Christian Whitehead, lead dev of Sonic Mania, shared on Bluesky a scrapped 2.5D Classic Sonic prototype made sometime after Sonic Mania.

It featured Kanga Clanga, a badnik first planned for an outback themed zone before debuting in Sonic Superstars’ Pinball Carnival.
