With the Seiho + Obey City Way Cool Winter Tour on the imminent horizon, our favorite funky producers give us their latest musical offerings. Obey City’s ‘Wait‘ opens the release with a soulful laid-back groove, and Seiho takes everything up a notch with perhaps his best offering to date, the dramatic and beautiful ‘KOI.’ This digital release is accompanied with a T-shirt designed by Sapporo design group Patanica, and ships worldwide February 11th.

大阪在住のビートメーカー、SeihoとLucky MeからリリースしたEPで注目を集めているブルックリン在住のビートメーカー、Obey CityによるスプリットEP、「Shochu Sounds」が大阪のレーベル、「Perfect Touch」より02/11(水）に発売が決定した。フォーマットは、デジタル配信とTシャツとのセットの2種類で、公式サイトで購入可能となっている。
河童をモチーフとしたジャケット、Tシャツのデザインは、札幌のアートチーム、「Patanica」によるもので、マスタリングにはDaddy Kevが運営するスタジオ、「Cosmic Zoo」でマスタリングされている。
尚、発売に先駆けて02/07-02/10に行われる大阪、名古屋、福岡、東京の4都市で開催する2人のジャパンツアーでは、各会場限定で先着で手に入れることが出来る。

PT003 Seiho & Obey City: Shochu Sounds

"At Fault" is a collaboration with my good friend Hiro Makino aka "There Is A Fox" (https://soundcloud.com/thereisafox). The song's early stages consisted of a re-arranged and re-sampled There Is A Fox original called "Bad Day." Hiro then graciously provided additional guitar tracks and layers to the sampled arrangement. We went back and forth adding and subtracting elements until we came out with this end result. This track was initially planned to be released with the new Spazzkid EP, but ended up wanting a life of its own. It stands for itself, pure and beautiful.

Monitor 66's arrival on our radar has been less like a faint blip getting stronger and more like the last minute realisation of impending meteor impact, a bit like the film 'Deep impact' only not rubbish. The three Swedish gentlemen that make up 'Monitor 66' have been responsible for one of our favourite tunes of the summer and indeed our first single release 'Triscuits'. Our new housemates are here for the long haul outputting a string of top quality remixes and playing more and more gigs around europe.

Todays mix from the trio stays true to their manifesto, that they "Make music for sunsets". Its got a classic heavy selection that will keep the nostalgia muscle pumping and the warmth flooding in. Beginning with an eerie confidence and a cold bleak soundscape to set the scene, the soul starts to creep in, melting the ice with the familiar tones of Sister Sledge with an edit spin. The mix moves nicely from classics to more contemporary edits and house with highlights including Move D's amazing 'Untitled 1' and Rayko's 'Just A Little Bit Of Love'. We caught up with the guys to ask them a few questions bout who they want to slap, who's the best DJ and........turles.
