Cologne's Johannes Kolter made his name as DJOKO, but his most recent outing under that alias for Talman Records also included a pair of tracks credited to Kolter. It's that artistic alias he's chosen to use on this single, which introduces the world to debutant imprint PILOT. 

It's an EP that's well worth checking out, not least for deliciously bass-heavy opener 'Went Too Far', a weighty, stab-happy and sample-heavy affair that recalls the occasional electro tracks made by early blepe & bass and hardcore producers. Garage-influenced breakbeat workout 'Get Into It' is another funk-fuelled treat, while jungle-influenced breaks shuffler 'Selectoor'sic is a bass-heavy beast. The German successfully rounds off a fine EP via 'Illumination', which reminded us a little of Orbital's most melodious early moments.

Driven by a vision of presenting warm, intruiging dance music, the vinyl only label has rapidly become one to watch in their debut releases. Moods flirt between the golden era of tech-house and slick breakbeat flavours, meandering through deep moods frothing with groove.

The label ran by DJs and producers Kurley, Roman Coskun, and Marco Man aims towards building a community within its ranks, inviting artists for repeat releases to express the collective vision. AT006 will be provided by UK rising talent Tom Spark. Growing up with the music of bands like Pink Floyd and the Moody Blues, Tom always loved sounds that made him wonder about how they were created. With the amazing synth work in his tracks, Tom makes us wonder the same way about his music.
Tom gets inspired by tracks that don’t fit too firmly in one particular genre. He digs tracks of Traumer, IO Mulen, Michael James as well as new material from up-and-coming artists.
His Airtime EP follows up on his Rawsome Deep EP that was released last summer. With his Blind Vision EP closing the year, 2020 has, despite all the drama, been an amazing year for him. We can only imagine what he will bring us in 2021! Tom’s EP releases the 30th of October exclusively on Beatport, 13th of November on all platforms. Accompanied by M-High & Robin Fett on the remixes.
