Here's an unofficial remix I've done of one of my favourite pieces of Dance music history.

I went back and found the original records the Orb sampled so i could rebuild everything from scratch. Made this so I could play it at Sun & Bass 2022 - on the beach - worked perfectly.

This is unofficial, for now.

Hontas had her first encounters with electronic music in 2012. Growing up in Kassel's vibrant underground electronic music scene, she developed a passion for the energy and rhythm conveyed through sound.

In 2015, Hontas decided to step behind the decks herself. Earning a residency at Kassel's Club Arm early in her career, her ability to not just play music but to tell stories through her sets became her trademark. From the beginning, her sets were well thought out and characterized by a clear narrative thread that took listeners on a mesmerizing journey.

She has also hosted numerous events in and around central Germany.

Hontas' sound is driving, visionary, and hypnotic. She creates a unique atmosphere through carefully selected tracks and seamless transitions, captivating her audience. Her style is defined by deep basses, tribal rhythms, and a thoughtful selection of melodies and effects.

John B Reimagines the Iconic Halo Theme in His Latest Drum & Bass Anthem.

Internationally acclaimed Drum & Bass producer and DJ John B unveils his next epic single: a powerful and uplifting reimagining of the legendary Halo theme. 

Set for release on 12 June via his Beta Recordings imprint, Halo transforms one of the most iconic video game soundtracks of all time into a cinematic, adrenaline-fueled Drum & Bass masterpiece.

Originally composed by Martin O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori for the groundbreaking 2001 video game Halo: Combat Evolved, the original theme is instantly recognisable for its haunting Gregorian-style choir, powerful orchestration, and otherworldly atmosphere. With this new DNB version, John B brings the theme into 2025 with driving two-step drums, reese basslines, soaring synths, and massive cinematic energy - while preserving the epic emotional weight of the original.

Staying true to the spirit of the source material, John B recreated every element from scratch, using authentic-sounding orchestral textures, layered choirs, and modern synths — all performed and produced without using any direct samples from the original. The result is a respectful, high-octane tribute that blends nostalgia with forward-thinking sound design, delivering a track equally at home in a DJ set or on a gaming playlist.

Halo lands as John B enters one of the busiest and most exciting phases of his career to date. Alongside a packed international DJ schedule - with upcoming appearances at TwitchCon Rotterdam, Newquay, Tallinn, and COAL Festival in the Czech Republic - John is also making his scoring debut, having recently signed on to create the soundtrack for his first feature film, as well as composing original music for a video game project.

The release also kicks off a heavy run of new music, including an upcoming single with MC Fava, fresh material from John’s covers project Wyld Dogz, and more upcoming collaborations with Magellan Starchild - continuing to showcase his versatility across the spectrum of Drum & Bass and beyond.

With this release, John B bridges the worlds of gaming and DNB, paying tribute to a timeless classic while pushing the genre forward with his trademark cinematic style, infectious energy, and unmistakable creative vision.

Melina hat schon früh angefangen, sich mit elektronischer Musik auseinanderzusetzen. Bis dato nur selbst als interessierte Zuhörerin auf regionalen und überregionalen Veranstaltungen, wurden im Jahr 2015 befreundet DJ’s und Veranstalter aus ihrem Umfeld, insbesondere dem ehemaligen Kasseler Club ‚Das Erste Mal‘ auf ihr großes Interesse, sowie das schlummernde Potenzial aufmerksam und nahmen sie prompt an dieHand, um ihr das Mixen beizubringen.
Die ersten Gigs ließen nicht lange auf sich warten und so bekam sie nach dem Ausscheiden ihrer alten Homebase „Das Erste Mal“ eine Residency beim Kasseler Club ARM, welcher sie bis heute neben weiteren regionalen und überregionalen Gigs nachgeht.
Jedes ihrer Sets erzählt seine eigene Story und zielt darauf ab, eine bestimmte Stimmung herzustellen. Ihr Sound ist ebenso dystopisch wie durchschlagskräftig. Inspiriert von Labels wie Sandwell District, Semantica oder Blueprint, nur um einige zu nennen, zählen
zu Ihren Einflüssen sowohl Ambient, als auch Detroit und industrial Techno. Selten bleibt es beim bloßen 4/4-Takt.
Neben dem ARM ist ihr musikalisches zu Hause die erfolgreiche Kasseler Veranstaltungsreihe „SINE“, die aus einem Teil der ehemaligen „nüchtern.“-Reihe entstand und es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht hat, intelligenten Techno nach Kassel zu holen. Hier hatte sie bereits die Chance neben vielen internationalen Szenegrößen wie Keith Carnal, Dax J, Nur Jaber, Markus Suckut uvm. zu spielen.
