The journey of Heimlich Musik continues with their third compilation that sums up the current state of art in downtempo music. By featuring a great mixture of up and coming and more established artists in the first two compilations, the third compilation follows this concept. 
Musically speaking, the third compilation comes as a vivid trip from oriental treats, as for example "Mumu“ by the Austrian "Wille zum Wahnsinn" to melancholic slow house, as served by "Youlaike" from Cologne. With a slowed down Indie-Disco tune Patrick Alavi continues the musical trip. Istanbul’s "Islandman" delivers a percussion-driven tool to complete the wide musical range of this collection. The third compilation by Heimlich Musik proves that downbeat music doesn't know any genre-boundaries. 
This compilation is a gift from Heimlich Musik to you, the scene of slow-groove-lovers. But in the first place it is a gift from the artists to you, who made this epic release possible. Thank you forever!

About Pops Staples
Roebuck "Pops" Staples was an American gospel and R&B musician. A "pivotal figure in gospel in the 1960s and 1970s, he was an accomplished songwriter, guitarist and singer. He was the patriarch and member of singing group The Staple Singers, which included his son Pervis and daughters Mavis, Yvonne, and Cleotha. Pops was born near Winona, Mississippi, the youngest of 14 children. He grew up on a cotton plantation near Drew, Mississippi. From his earliest years he heard, and began to play with, local blues guitarists such as Charlie Patton Robert Johnson, and Son House.  He dropped out of school after the eighth grade, then sang with a gospel group before marrying and moving to Chicago in 1935.  In 1948, Robs and his wife Oceola Staples formed The Staple Singers to sing as a gospel group in local churches, with their children. The Staple Singers first recorded in the early 1950s for United and then the larger Vee-Jay Records, with songs including 1955's "This May Be the Last Time" .  In the 1960s the Staple Singers moved to Riverside Records, Epic Records, and later Stax Records and began recording protest, inspirational and contemporary music, reflecting the civil rights and anti-war movements of the time.
A further move in the late 60s, the family extending their range still further with aspirational soul material such as Respect Yourself, which won them a gold disc; the hypnotic chant I'll Take You There; and the million-selling If You're Ready (Come Go With Me). Staples also recorded an instrumental blues album, Jammed Together, with fellow guitarists Albert King and Steve Cropper. There were those who regarded these progressive accommodations to the secular music market as betrayals of the traditions the family were supposed to represent. To such accusations Staples succinctly replied, "Ain't nobody want to go to heaven more than me, but we got to live down here too."
The Staples Singers worked less after Mavis left to pursue a solo career, but in the 90s "Pops" Staples, as he now billed himself, enjoyed a spell of international success away from the family setting, appearing at blues festivals - though steadfastly refusing to sing the blues - and recording the well-received albums Peace to the Neighborhood and Father Father in collaboration with admirers such as Ry Cooder and Bonnie Raitt.

Pfandtastisch! Eine riesige Meute Soundpirat*innen hat sich dazu bereit erklärt, feine Musik für den vierten und bisher größten Kopfüber Sampler zu produzieren.

Dieses Mal geht es nicht um die Schiffe der Seawatch, die wir mit dem letzten Solisampler unterstützt haben. Unser eigenes Schiff schwankt, angesichts der aktuellen Lage und steht stillgelegt in seinem Heimathafen. Daher haben wir uns entschlossen, Freund*innen und Crewmitglieder*innen zum Produzieren zu animieren und diese Soundsammlung dann als Soli Sampler für einen humanen Einklaufspreis auf Bandcamp zu stellen. Jegliche Einnahmen werden dazu genutzt, die monatliche Miete für unser Verwirrtshaus zu sichern!

Wir freuen uns auf eure Unterstützung, um unser Projekt in Zeiten wie diesen am Laufen zu halten.
In Zukunft werden alle Sampler wieder auf Spendenbasis sein!

Pawn-tastic! A huge mob of sound pirates* has agreed to produce fine music for the fourth and so far biggest Kopfüber sampler.

This time it's not about the Seawatch ships we supported with the last soli sampler. Our own ship is wavering, given the current situation and stands idle in its home port. Therefore we decided to encourage friends and crew members to produce and then put the collected sounds on Bandcamp as a soli-sampler for a humane price. Any income will be used to secure the monthly rent for our Verwirrtshaus!

We are looking forward to your support to keep our project running in times like these. Future samplers will be free downloads again!

A TWICE TOLD TALE

One fine autumn day in late September, Santi (from Asunción, Paraguay) and Tuğçe (from Istanbul, Turkey) have crossed paths in a small town in the middle of the “heartland” US. From this moment on, their lives have become webs of inquiry and revelation as they have jointly devoted forces to mastering the art of musical storytelling. Drawing on a wide palette of ideas and influences, Santi & Tuğçe have created an enchanting world with their music in which the characters are driven by passion and a zest for life. A world where mythical creatures return home after an epic quest to an island surrounded by land, where a wise woman prepares potions to heal the poet, the dreamer, and the disillusioned; where planets collide and create new patterns in the cosmic swirl; where two starry-eyed lovers sail away on a sea turtle spaceship to places unknown; and where self-aware, compassionate robots resolve ancient paradoxes in their mission to rescue humanity.

On this fine autumn day in late September, thirteen years after their fortuitous encounter, Santi & Tuğçe, now based in the ‘center of electronic music’ Berlin, present their latest musical odyssey:  “A Twice Told Tale”. Filled with unmistakable charm and complexity, “A Twice Told Tale” conjures up stories that connect with something deep within the listener. Told with emotional intensity and intricacy, these are songs for and about everyone.

The first single from this EP, “Hikâye” tells a long tale, a tale that is “a little naïve, a little rebellious, and a little tender”. Life is fleeting, leaves will fall, colors will fade, and before we know it, it will be time to depart from this beautiful earth. Yet the tale we have lived to tell and the love we have lived for will remain.

born in 1972 in south west of france.
Passionated by all sounds since child (blues, soul, R&B, rock, funk, disco, rap, electronic  (from berlin in first^^) 
I became a vinyles dj at 20 years old , in 1992, playing into nature areas , forests, private parties. Educated by Dj Nerate (UK) from famous Spiral Tribe team, i'm  proud to have been a part of these first influences @ early times of techno movement in france with very small audience (but high quality^^^one) , playing house, hardhouse, techno, hard techno, trance , psytrance... sharing the sound also in thailand & nepal  (92 to 95) & goa beaches (92 to 97) , jungle or breakbeat, during 10 years
After a break of 20 years..I came back on the desks , that time on digital materials from summer 2022 & at 50 years old..(a kind of revival !) 
I like to improvise with all the avalanche of new stuff that i hunt & receive  each day from some precious friends. But i love also to build some storytelling using the prods made by all the artists i adore.
Downtempo or midtempo (even high tempo), house, slowhouse, deephouse, hip house, electronic , deep beats,psytrance or chillhouse & even sometimes with melodic or else .
My eclectic knowledge & my singular way to mix make my personnality , & in first my way to communicate & share the love , groovy & Deepness most of time.
