The Israeli-Japanese DJ & Producer Roy Yamaguchi is back on Camel Riders and this time he is serving us a special FREE DOWNLOAD gift! His remix for the most iconic interpretation of ‘Djelem’Djelem’ which was composed in 1949, and often used as the anthem of the Gipsies. In this splendid remix, Roy Yamaguchi transforms the original’s romantic ballad into a fascinating electronic tale, characterized by its driving baseline and its enchanting cinematic atmosphere which frames the majestic vocals of Olivera Katarina. Trained as an academic psychologist and former lecturer at the University of Sydney, Andy Rantzen has been involved with the Sydney underground music scene since the early days of Pelican Daughters, recording and releasing industrial-ambient soundscapes and tape experiments. Rantzen’s work has gained further recognition in recent years thanks to labels like Kashual Plastik and Efficient Space. He is now teaming up with Paesaggi Records for a special Halloween release on a 7" record with two original tunes from the vault. It comes with a screen-printed cover art courtesy of Fieldink Studio.

Live at WITP?

A bit sloth-wise belated, here is my recording from this year's Burning Man festival in the beautiful, but harsh desert of Nevada. Luckily I got the chance to stay at the lovely Ibiza Camp, which turned out to be a nest of international musicians that I knew only through their music and projects. So a lot of exchange happened, new friendships grew and endless hours of great music were around us every day. Inspiring times... I got the chance to play several times at this crazy place, mostly spontaneous and super fun back to backs with friends that unfortunately weren’t recorded… dusty disco bubble memories that will never die. But on Saturday afternoon I stayed in the oriental DJ booth – with that incredible view out into the open desert, on passing art cars and weird costumes.
