Snow and then Rain

Driving four on the floor beat, gritty bass, and flights of guitars with harmonizer and plenty of drive themselves, through a cloud of synth. A metallic arpeggio voice transmits a code through this chaotic medium.

Another Warr Guitar learning project for me. You can tell I still need a lot of work with fingering consistency and tighter timing. The performances aren't that great. Still, I've always wanted to get this song down.

The song has six separate tracks. The bass side carries the melody and a two of the other arpeggios for the bridge of the song. The bass side melody is electronic neck pickup only, and the arpeggios are piezo+neck pickup. The treble side carries the main backing arpeggios with one track with piezo pickups and two arpeggio tracks with one piezo and one piezo+neck pickup.

There's light compression on the bass melody, light compression on the whole mix, reverb to tie it together. The bridge arpeggios have more reverb for more for depth, light chorus, and a little automated panning tomfoolery for fun.

Inheritance & Cult

In 2020, Skitch Hiker was formed with Jonathan Ashwell on vocals and guitar, Luke Dickens on bass guitar, and Chops McWatters on drums. Over the course of that year, they got together once a week to create a plethera of new ideas that all members had brought to the table. Skitch Hiker can be described as taking on the rich, dark howls and rib-crushing sounds that bands like Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, Led Zeppelin, and Melvins all geared their engine towards. A blend of anti-war themes with dark, satirical surrealist humour is what gives Skitch Hiker their own sense of identity.
