I Wanna Know If It's Good To You? - Funkadelic.  One of the first Live Remixes I did on a 4-Track back in 1989. One of my favorite Funkadelic songs of ALL-TIME, I've got a million scratch/remixes of this song, this is just one of them. Billy, Eddie & Tiki looped up into a dubadelic frenzy.

On the morning of August 22, 1989. A friend called and asked if I had heard the news about Dr. Huey P. Newton. I turned on the news and started recording on my VCR. After gathering news footage that morning, I went straight for the Roland S-10. Here is the result of laying the bottom track straight to tape then overdubbing the sampled news footage.

Parliament Funkadelic - Tales of Kid Funkadelic (instrumental) 1973

What started off as a hardcore Funk/Thrash/Reggae band in 1981-82 Oakland, Ca. simply phased out due to growing pains (all members were in the 10th grade). Anthony Bryant a.k.a. Dave Id K-OS pushed on and took
his Funk, Rock, Reggae and Hardcore influences to the turntables. After getting hired at a local record store in 1984, K-OS unleashed his style of mixes and scratches with hip-hop beats cut over his musical influences, which
included: Parliament/Funkadelic, Jimi Hendrix, Sly & the Family Stone, Black Flag, Flipper, and Killing Joke.

The year was 1985, Hip-Hop was in it's infant stage and samplers weren't even popular, George Clinton discovers K-OS mixing P-Funk records at his job. In the Spring of 1986, K-OS was featured on Clinton's
"R&B Skeletons In The Closet" LP which also featured Vanessa L. Williams' vocal performance on "Hey, Good Lookin'". Always the pioneer, Clinton foreseen what was to become the next big thing in music, Scratchin' and Samplin'. As part of the Mix-Master project, Clinton released a series of 12 inch singles labeled as Scratch Pads in order for DJ'S to do their "Thang" with.

By 1987, sampling became dominant, drum machines were putting drummers in the unenjoyment line, Punk Rock became 'Alternative music'. K-OS was introduced to DJ Ricky Vincent (History of Funk's Uhuru
Maggot), and DJ Illenstein. Joining Rick's DJ squad giving P-Funk parties around town in addition to spinning at the Berkeley Square as opening acts for headliners such as Primus, Limbomaniacs, Smoking Section and
Fungo Mungo.

Hip-Hop was bubbling on the West Coast and DavId K-OS along with EmCee Quick (Naru Kwina) were starting to make some noise. Digital Underground was starting to make some noise too, Then Rickey introduced Quick & K-OS to Shock G. D U wasn't afraid to sample the 'P-Funk' and K-OS had plenty of it and started work with their pre-production crew for the Humpty Dance. The song became a rap anthem, the group blew up very rapidly and the rest is history.

After this explosion of Hip-Hop and Funk fused together, the Original K-OS went back to George Clinton & P-Funk in the fall of 1989 merging the Funk with Hip-Hop in various ways. Uncle Jam (Clinton) then arms General K-OS with an arsenal of FUNK from then, on to this day.

1991: K-OS becomes an underground legend in his own right, occasionally resurfacing to work with longtime P-Funk percussionist Muruga Booker, James Gurley (Big Brother and The Holding Company),
and Buzzy Linhart .

May of 2001: K-OS performes with Buzzy Linhart and The Big Few with Leon Hendrix (Jimi's brother) on guitar at Eric Burdon's 60th Birthday Party
at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, Ca.

2002: saw the merger of Spoken Word/Hip-Hop and Funk with a 5 song E.P. by his short lived duo, Isolated Compound.

2003 - 2005: K-OS joined forces with Bay Area Funk band ZootZilla. Playing rhythm guitar, live sampler, drums and turntables. Landing an opening act spot for George Clinton and The P-Funk All-Stars at Studio Z in San
Francisco May 11th, 2004.

2005-2012: K-OS is the DJ for P-Funk All-Star RonKat Spearman in his band, RonKat Spearman's Katdelic.

2006 to present: K-OS starts a residency at John Lee Hooker's Boom Boom Room, opening for an endless amount of bands such as, The Monophonics, Wil Blades Trio, Benny D and SpyBoy, Con Brio and Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds to name a few.

2012: the Original K-OS can be seen and heard around the Bay Area, Funkin' around with various Muggz at various clubs & studios. Joins forces again with PTFI and Bay Area Funk phenom ZootZilla for a spot at the 2012 Long Beach Funk Festival.

2013: Who knows. You may just get a long awaited CD/album from this guy.
