The second album from MOY is a musical evolution, borne of change.

Since his first compilation appearance in 2019, the prolific producer and live performer has released on some of electro’s most revered labels, including Analogical Force, AC Records, Nocta Numerica and Exalt - but this latest record, for his own MOY imprint, amps up the musicality and emotion to create something even deeper.

Moving cities and becoming a parent have imprinted the sound of ‘The Phenomenon Of Memory’. The opener, ‘Sunrise (Live)’, rides a thundering breakbeat, but the plangent acid lines, moody bass undertows and gorgeous piano riffs give it a poignant air. ‘Alpha Decay’ is a slow and low electro cut wreathed in bleeps and soaring string pads, with a monstrous low-end tying it all together, while ‘Echoic Memory’ sounds like a hidden gem of mid ’90s electronica, recalibrated for modern ears, with its mystic synth lines and stately break.

‘Positron Emission’ is huge, a rare instance of the producer in 4/4 techno mode, with a heavily armoured rhythmic undercarriage and sulphuric frequencies powering it along. Then there’s ‘Eternity Well’, which could be his best track so far; the ethereal synths suggest some shoegaze guitar classic, but the beats are pure electro, and when the cascading melody hits midway through, you know you’re in the presence of a future classic. ‘Forest Dungeon’ has a snaking bassline that weaves through the track like an adder through woodland, and ‘The Mist’ is what we need more of: acid drum & bass, filled with metallic fills, speedy 303 burbles and emotive bleeps. The final track, ‘Dusk’, is a reflective ambient closer, a hitherto unheard side of MOY that hints at further evolutions in the near future.

Built of improvisation, experimentation, and most of all, emotion - expect to hear this record resonating from festivals, clubs and home stereos for many years to come.

Track from Ukrainian Peshka on the first ever (!) vinyl only release of @secret_feta_records - 4 tracks EP «Cheese Tricks Vol 1 // Honey & Cheese Combo» curated by @mr-sela. From the name it is clear that people know about life and know how to please avid hedonists! Theres another Ukrainian - @vquv witch you may know from Noneside 12" :) Syntelman and Multivers on the record as well. Don't mess with GOATS!

The idea was created in Mariupol in 2020, - Mark Peshka says, - but only the vocals and part of the groove remained from the old project, which became the basis of the track. At the end of 2023, I was approached by French artist Sela, who was starting a new vinyl label and offered to release my stuff. After the usual rummaging through old projects, I found Your Behind and another demo (a little insider), which will also be released on the label's next release. After completing the tracks, I sent them to Doryan (Sela), after which they immediately found their place on vinyl. Despite my overall brooding, sometimes dark and sad vibe, this track has a clubby and aggressive sound that reminds me of my opposite sides.

Peshka - Your Behind [Secret Feta]

For RA.1000, DJ Sprinkles' first mix in over a decade is a powerful meditation on the genocide in Gaza.

Dance music often relies on simple narratives: release, escape, unity. But those narratives can often feel inadequate, and even at times, hollow. Or, as Terre Thaemlitz might bluntly put it, just "shitty."

For her first mix in around 15 years, Terre Thaemlitz AKA DJ Sprinkles, challenges us to think differently. "I felt this 1000th podcast should reflect the moment in which it was made," she told us in her Q&A.

And what is this moment? Every day since Israel's 2023 assault on Gaza began, an average of 28 children have been killed. That's an entire classroom, every day, for over 600 days (at the time of writing). It's a staggering figure that only captures a fragment of the listless cruelty imposed on the strip.

Faced with such a genocide, what can music really do? How political can it truly be?  For their RA.1000, Thaemlitz gives us an unflinching rebuke to the idea that music should provide escapism. The mix weaves ambient fragments and jazz passages, woven around samples from Israeli media and the voices of outspoken Jewish critics like Gabor Maté and Norman Finkelstein. 

The result is not just a protest, but a document of our time. For Terre Thaemlitz, music is never just music. Her RA.1000 serves as a reminder that in an age of relentless suffering, the most political act is to reject the illusion of escape, and search for something greater.
