As the name implies, “This-honest” is a forthright tale of vulnerability in a creative format. It explores the idea of accountability and susceptibility from two unique angles. One, a budding young artist with ambition and dreams. Another from a seasoned veteran, trying to stay afloat and keep old dreams alive. It is dramatisation of the eternal struggle between success and reality. Addiction and admiration. In a world of bloated marketing and dishonesty, “This-honest” aims to bypass the fabrication and give truth it's time to shine.

Often as humans, we get caught in a spiral of self doubt, confusion, anxiety and depression, forgetting how beautiful life actually is. Rainbows Don’t Exist is a free of style written song about feeling empty with little to no direction.

Reflecting on the year and the challenges I was facing with my mental health, 2024 (Freestyle) was written in the holidays around new years. It’s a relatable song covering growth, struggles and life balance. 

2024 (Freestyle)

808 feelin' is about how humans react to low end frequencies. For the creation of this song I drew inspiration from artists such as A$AP Rocky and Kendrick Lamar. Low frequency fields generate electric fields and currents in the human body. As a consequence, nerve and muscle cells can be stimulated. The 808 refers to a percussion sound known for its booming, low-frequency bass which vibrates at a slower rate. You may feel it in your chest.

In the midst of all the controversy, let’s just remember that at the end of the day hip hop is all about bringing people together through freedom of expression. 

I decided to remix a classic and wrote these lyrics for the upcoming Drake concert this Sunday at Sydney Olympic Park. 

This one goes out to all of the independent artists out there who are constantly putting the work in and may struggle with their mental health. 

If you are seeing this, I’m sure that you can relate to at least some of these lyrics.
